No: The Boughton Estate and B.Q. Farms (South) Please indicate (X) your class Class 1 Class 2 Class 3 Entries close on 5st October 2014. All entries free Rules for Hedge-Laying 1. Draw to take place at 9.00am. All Competitors Shall Cut Stint according to the draw. 2. All competitors to Cut, Lay, Stake and Bind 10 Yards. 3. In all classes, competitors may help each other if required. No other persons are to assist. 4. In all classes each competitor to lay off his first pleach for the next competitor to fill in. 5. In all classes the time limit will be 5 Hours, thereafter penalty points will be incurred at the rate of 1 point per 5 minutes. 6. In all classes the height of the hedge to be laid to a minimum 3ft 6ins. 7. In all classes the hedge is to be cattle proof with brush left on one side (Midland Style Bullock Fence). Dead wood left in the hedge will be penalised. 8. In all classes stakes and binders will be supplied. 9. Competitors must observe the statutory safety regulations when competing: Copies of which can be obtained from DEFRA. NO CHAINSAWS ARE TO BE USED UNLESS SUITABLE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING IS WORN. WPH cannot be held responsible for any accidents or injury however caused. WPH reserve the right to stop any competitor cutting in an unsatisfactory manner. 10. Points will be awarded in accordance with the following table; Cutting & Pleaching Staking & Binding General Appearance & Building of Fence Back to Fence Max 35 Points Max 25 Points Max 20 Points Max 20 Points Total 100 Points 11. £10 will be paid to all competitors who complete their length to the satisfaction of the stewards. List of Classes Class 1 – Veteran Class For all competitors aged over 60 Years on the day of competition. st nd rd Prizes 1 £50, 2 £30, 3 £20. Class 2 – Intermediate Class st nd rd For competitors who have not previously been placed 1 , 2 or 3 in a NHLS affiliated event. st nd rd Prizes 1 £50, 2 £30, 3 £20. Class 3 – Open Class st nd rd Prizes 1 £75, 2 £50, 3 £30. A special prize of £50 will be awarded to the best result in any class for a competitor living and working in the WPH Hunt Country.
