September 2014 DAW DAZZLERS Fall Festivals Dazzler Dance Wear We know everyone is very busy this time of year. We have decided to cancel our fall festival rehearsals and performances for this season. Please take a look at the calendar and make note of these changes. We have sizings for Dazzler jackets at the front desk for ADULT sizes. Sizings for YOUTH jackers will be available sometime the week of August 25-28. We will be sizing all new Dazzlers and charging your account $85 for a jacket. Any returning Dazzler who needs a jacket should be sure to get sized by 8/28/14. # Choreography We are almost finished with our dance assignments. Some dances will be choreographed before November. We will most likely have the dance assignments to you before Oct. 1st. Remember, choreography fees are due by 10/15/14, or on the day a specific piece is set. So be on the lookout! This season we are not requiring "FULL" uniforms. The only required Dazzler attire is a jacket, which should be worn to and from Dazzler events, competitions, and during awards ceremony. # Shoes for class * These are the shoes you need for class. If your shoes from last year still fit, you do not have to buy new shoes for class. We will let you know what kind of shoes you need for competition in NOVEMBER. September 2014 Fund-Raising Team The following parents have volunteered to be a part of the Dazzler Fundraising Team. They will meet periodically to brainstorm and organize various fundraising events. The purpose of the team is to provide opportunities for individuals to raise funds to help ease the financial obligations of Dazzlers. If you are interested in being on the Fund Raising team, please e-mail the studio and we will add you to the list. Keep in mind that this does not mean you HAVE to compete a solo. Solos are very time consuming and expensive, in addition solos can sometimes add extra stress to dancers who may not be emotionally ready to have the pressure of dancing alone on stage. If you are unsure if your dancer is ready for a solo think about these things: ✦ Are you prepared financially for your dancers to compete a solo? Choreography - $250$500, Weekly rehearsals - $15-$20 per week, Costume - $100-$200, Entry fees - $400 ✦ Are you able to find time for your dancer to rehearse on a weekly basis? ✦ Is your dancer ready emotionally? Dancing on stage alone is very different than dancing in a group. If you are unsure if your dancer is ready, send us an email. We will be honest and let you know what we think would be best! If you plan on doing a solo, we must know by October 1, 2014. Your choreography must be complete by December 19, 2014. You should schedule your choreography with the choreographer of your choice. If you will need to use the DAW facility, you will need to schedule this with Ms. KC. !
