Polyester and nylon fabrics Optional APFU similar design with enhanced fabrics Jacket and pants available in female sizes Way Ahead: Conducting health assessment on antimicrobial treatment, possible use with trunk and t-shirt fabrics APFU mandatory possession date 1FY18 3 Army Service Uniform (ASU) Female Optional Placket Shirt Issue: Female Soldiers requested a more professional looking tuckin shirt with a center front placket Objective and Discussion: PEO Soldier to evaluate an optional placket shirt (not a clothing bag item) Description: tuck in design with front covered button placket, princess style seams, white polyester/cotton fabric, available in long and short sleeves The Exchange to provide samples and costing for long REPRESENTATION sleeved and short sleeved shirts Way Ahead: The Exchange to introduce the shirt into the Army Military Clothing Stores (AMCS) inventory as an optional item, 1FY15 tentative 4 Army Service Uniform (ASU) Female Optional Pleated Mess Dress Shirt Issue: Female Soldiers requested an optional pleated mess dress shirt instead of current ruffled shirt Objective and Discussion: PEO Soldier to evaluate an optional pleated mess dress shirt (not a clothing bag item) Description: tuck in design, white polyester/cotton fabric, removable dome-shaped buttons The Exchange to provide samples and costing for long sleeved and short sleeved shirts Way Ahead: REPRESENTATION The Exchange to introduce the shirt into the Army Military Clothing Stores (AMCS) inventory, 1FY15 tentative The Exchange will offer both shirts (ruffled, pleated) for a time period 5 Army Service Uniform (ASU) Female Officers’ Optional Cape Issue: Female Soldiers requested an officers’ cape Objective and Discussion: AR 670-1 cites two capes for female officers, a short Army Blue 450 cape and a knee length black cape PEO Soldier to design a knee length female cape.
