Red Ribbon Week Activities October 27-31, 2014 Each day there will be a contest after the announcements during 2nd period for those who are the best-dressed for that day’s theme. Winners will get prizes. Monday, October 27th 1. “Team Up Against Drugs” 2. Students and Staff are encouraged to wear SPORTS TEAM shirts. 3. Drug-Free Awareness Information read during the morning announcements. 4. Student Council members will be wrapping trees in red and creating a red Solo cup mural on the chain link fence in front of the building. 5. Students will receive red ribbons in class compliments of the Counseling Department. Tuesday, October 28th 1. “Too Bright For Drugs” 2. Students and Staff are encouraged to wear NEON. 3. Drug-Free Awareness Information read during the morning announcements. 4. A library book display will be created to provide information about the dangers of drugs and how others have overcome substance abuse problems. 5. Student Council members will pass out Fortune Teller Fish at lunch with the message “Drugs Destroy Dreams”. Wednesday, October 29th 1. “Have a Heart- Don’t Start” 2. Students and Staff are encouraged to wear ALL RED. 3. Drug-Free Awareness Information read during the morning announcements. 4. Students will sign a drug-free pledge on stage during lunch with names on red hearts. Thursday, October 30th 1. “A life witout drugs? (T)WINNING!” 2. Students and Staff are encouraged to dress as TWINS. 3. Drug-Free Awareness Information read during the morning announcements. 4. The Sherrif’s Department will be speaking to 6th graders during Transitions 2nd period. They will speak to 7th and 8th grade during lunch. They will have the K9 dogs on display. 5. “Save Your Face- Don’t Do Drugs”- Student Council will write Mirror Messages in the bathroom. Friday, October 31st 1. “Don’t be a part of the Zombie Apocalypse… Stay off Drugs!” 2. Students and Staff are encouraged to wear ZOMBIE COSTUMES. The office will be giving wristbands to students present on SNAPSHOT DAY, October 17th so that they can wear their zombie costumes; costumes will not be allowed for anyone absent on that day. 3. Drug-Free Awareness Information read during the morning announcements. 4. Student Council members will pass out Dum Dum lollipops at lunch with the message “Drugs are Dum(b)”.
