The HSS-3000 and HSS-300 are designed for high end broadcast applications in the new digital era. With
consideration of the transition to DTV, both switchers support HD/SD multi-format and offer 1M/E, 8 input /
8 output to 4M/E, 96 input / 64 output configurations to meet various system requirements.
In the case of the HSS-3000, either HD or SD-SDI signals can be assigned to each M/E with simultaneous
operation available in one electronic frame. Moreover, it achieves highly flexible Key control, various
programmable effects, high reliability, and network facilities to enhance practical operation.

A total 96 inputs and 64 outputs can be supported. Output signals are fully assignable.
HD/SD assignable to each M/E
Either HD or SD signals can be assigned to each M/E. For example, it allows 2 M/E for HD and the other 2 M/E for SD
assignment.
2D DVE or Optional 3D DVE on each M/E
Employs 2ch simple two dimensional DVE per each M/E. Or optional three dimensional DVE on each M/E can be selected.
Basic effects can be done without an external DVE.
4 Keys per M/E
Chroma Key or Border Key is selectable for each Keyer. Various mask functions can be added on the Keys.
4M/E + DSK Facility
Not only the standard 4 M/E configuration, the system can be setup as a 3 M/E or 2 M/E system to meet the various user
demands. Multiple Operation Consoles can be connected to a signal electronic frame within the total 4 M/E capacity.

To realize easy setup of complicated effect sequence, the operator can
setup on the main LCD touch screen while seeing other parameters on a
secondary screen.
Optional 2 ch HD/SD DVE
An optional 2ch DVE can be connected. Up to 2 units can be applied to
a single Electronic Frame, allowing a total of 4 ch HD/SD DVE effects.
External Machine Control
To create a video and audio sequence, the HSS-3000 can control and synchronize VTR or HDD recorders, etc.
Programmable Effects capability
Combining of operation memory and machine control, programmable effects can be stored in the Event Memory function.
It reproduces animation effects by pushing a single switch.
High Reliability
To achieve high reliability, the HSS-3000 employs redundant power supplies, hot swappable modules, and a switcher bypass
capability for emergency situations. Ikegami's original OS for the Electronic Frame and Operation Console achieves a quick
boot within 1 minutes from power on or system reset.
Dual Network Capability
Arcnet and Ethernet capability allows not only control between Control Console and Electronic Frame, but external machine
control and future condition monitoring or remote maintenance.

Modular Construction of the Control Console
The Control Console is designed with modular construction. 32 or 24 button Cross Point Units, Transition/Effect Units and
Function Units can be assembled for 2 M/E, 3 M/E and 4 M/E as the customer demands. In addition, LCD Panels, AUX Panel
and Assign Copy Panel can be added and omitted as required by the system application.

The Electronic Frame is 19 inch Rackmount, 12 RU size.
Input modules are configured with 24 inputs on each
board and Output modules have 8 outputs on each
board. This permits a flexible number of inputs and
outputs. To ensure reliability, it has facility for redundant
power supply and hot swappable modules.

Employing the HSS-3000 concept
Employing to technology developed for the HSS-3000, the HSS-300 achieves HD/SD multi format support,full function, and
high reliability in a compact 3RU electronic frame. Optional RAM Recorder and external DVE Unit can be used commonly
with HSS-3000.
Multi-Format support
HD/SD multi-format facility minimizes investment in the transition period from SD to HD. In particular, it will be a cost effective
choice if the customer has a plan to upgrade to HD in the near future.
Optional 3D DVE or Simple DVE on each M/E
An optional 2ch three dimensional DVE or 2ch simple DVE per each M/E is available. Basic effects can be done without an
external DVE.
Programmable Effects capability
Complex motion effects can be programmed with the operation memory function.
AVDL and Color Corrector facility in input module
AVDL facility can adjust phase of each input signal. And Color Corrector function allows adjustment of gain, hue, black and
gamma. These facilities may eliminate the need for external units.
Console Type Variation
By the combination of PGM/PST or A/B Bus, 26/18/10 Button (PGM/PST)
or 28/20/12 Button (A-B Bus) and 2M/E or 1M/E, total 8 different Console
designs are available.
