Doctoral researcher position in MR Spectroscopic and Quantitative MR Imaging of the Human

Job Description: A doctoral researcher position is open immediately in the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, Hannover Medical School, Germany.
The researcher will join the Division of Experimental Neuroradiology. The position involves research
on MR spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) and quantitative MR Imaging (qMRI) methodology, including
data collection, data analysis as well as the development and optimization of the corresponding software. These efforts are dedicated to characterize and understand metabolic and microstructural variations in human brain under physiological and pathological conditions for neuroscientific research
and clinical applications.
The position will be well suited for individuals with a high interest in medical imaging as well as strong
initiative and excellent communication skills. Candidates must have a graduate degree (Master or
Diploma) in physics, medical informatics, computer science or a related discipline. Experience
in image processing and MRS data processing (e.g. using LCModel, jMRUI) and/or with software
programming (e.g. C/C+, JAVA or IDL) is beneficial. The position offers the opportunity to gain a doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.). The salary will be based on the university pay scheme (75% E13).
Duration: The appointment will be initially for 2 years. The appointment may be extended beyond 2
years dependent on funding and satisfactory performance based on annual reviews.
