The IO [io] 8000 video en- / decoder does not support another AES / EBU audio input
than a DB 9 pin. In some cases it can the studio environment is based on XLR. This
document provides you with all information on how to create an adapter from XLR to DB 9
pin.

The AES / EBU 9 pin connection on the back of the IO [io] 8000 can be both used for
input and output.
