Setting the Global Agenda for Agriculture Transformations

To meet the needs of a growing population with increasingly constrained resources, the world will need to
increase food availability while minimizing environmental impact. The World Economic Forum’s New Vision for
Agriculture (NVA) initiative’s works to demonstrate that market-based, multistakeholder approaches deliver food
security, environmental sustainability and economic opportunity, and to encourage systemic integration of the
NVA pillars and approach. In this session, global leaders will launch a strategy to advance and scale the impact of
the New Vision’s action agenda, and define its contributions to global food security and development needs.

The moderator will welcome the group and set the context for global food security and the
development agenda. He will invite selected speakers to present the three-year strategy of the
World Economic Forum’s New Vision for Agriculture initiative with global leaders.

Heads of State and Special Guests will engage in a leadership dialogue joining participants to
discuss the NVA strategy and how to deliver scale and contribute to global food security, and
development needs. Leaders will define a shared agenda for action in 2014 and beyond.
