INTEGRATED ROOM CONTROL
Distech Controls’ Integrated Room Control Solution is an end-to-end system for the control of HVAC
room terminal equipment, Lighting and Sunblinds, designed for local or room applications (offices,
classrooms, dorms, and more) and delivering the benefits of synergies... Achieve the highest levels of
comfort for occupants, while increasing operational cost savings!
The HVAC Programmable and Configurable Controllers (ECL/ECB-VAV, ECL/ECB-PTU Series and
RCL/RCB-PFC Series) are dedicated for terminal applications control: fan coils, chilled beams, heat pumps,
small AHU, VAV boxes, and more. They support built-in features and logic for lighting and sunblind
management and can control up to 8 lights and 8 sunblinds through expansion modules.
The ECx-Light and RCx-Light Expansion Modules control lights dimming or switching: on/off, 1-10V or
DALI. They allow the automatic control of light level and occupancy in a room.
The ECx-Blind and RCx-Blind Expansion Modules control sunblind opening, closing and tilting (angle
rotation). They are suitable for various applications: venetian blinds, sun shades, facade blinds…
A Multi-sensor can be connected either to a HVAC controller or to an expansion module, and acquires
presence and light level information. This allows to control all comfort parameters in a room according to
the occupancy status. It combines in a single and extra small device a motion detector, a luminosity sensor
and a wireless receiver for communication with a personal remote control.
Distech Controls also offers a broad array of room devices suitable for a wide range of environments and
applications: remote controls, discrete sensors, communicating sensors with LCD colour touch screen and
more. Occupants can adjust their own comfort parameters and preferences. Please, refer to the “Room

configuration can also be duplicated in other rooms.

the extended HVAC controller on a sub network and can easily be installed near the equipment
they control, reducing wiring and installation costs and following the common practise of each
disciplines.

Note: ECx-Light/Blind Series can be connected either with Quick-link connectors for direct installation into
the ceilings (-WD models), or traditional detachable connectors (-ST models) for use with optional strain
reliefs and terminal block covers. Both connections eliminate the need for a protective enclosure.
Lighting Expansion Modules : ECx-Light Series
The ECx-Light Expansion Modules are microprocessor-based interfaces that extend the
number of inputs and outputs available to control up to 8 lighting loads when connected
to a compatible programmable controller. The ECx-Light Expansion Modules operate off
of a separate sub-network bus that is governed by the main HVAC controller.

24Vdc), when connected to a compatible programmable controller. The ECx-Blind
Expansion Modules operate off of a separate sub-network bus that is governed by the
main HVAC controller.
