On-device BLIXT
BLIXT, a Patent Pending Technology which test capacity on a live network without
significantly impacting subscriber service. Using Blixt will reduce the cost and time
required to test network performance and deploy new capacity by estimating the
available bandwidth using Available Bandwidth Measurement (ABM) Technology.
4
Performance
Performance tests have been performed using a test network with one i9506
connected to an RCU. The focus of this was to test maximum throughput on one i9506
phone via On-device testing. In summary, it was observed that the average throughput
on On-device was up to 100-110 Mbps for HTTP download with acceptable CPU
performance.
For regular MDU testing, mostly we used four internal i9506 phones; 2 voice and 2
data. In addition, we have also tested that the MDU can successfully perform up to 4
parallel voice testing simultaneously.
Due to slow charging rate for Samsung phones via USB connection, some standalone
phones connected to the RCU may run out of battery during testing especially when
doing heavy data on parallel.

8.1
TEMS Pocket Remote 10.0 Call Generator Support
Due to limitations in the Android operating system, TEMS Pocket Remote 10.0 does not support
voice calls towards analogue call generators.
8.2
RSI User Rights
On test system with Windows XP SP3, RSI does not start when the user only belongs to group
'Users',
The solution is to let a user belonging to group 'Administrators' log in and change permissions
for 'Users' in registry and local dir.
After that change the RSI will be able to run as normal even for a user belonging to the group
'Users'.

NT14-33926, 1.0, 11/7/2014
13
8.3.10
Manual upload
Manual upload is not supported.
8.3.11
Scripting
The test case scripting feature introduces multiple degrees of freedom. However, all
features are not advised to use on the RTU. Detailed recommendations can be found
in TEMS Service Control Script Designer User’s Manual and TEMS Automatic
Measurement Methodology.
For example, the following limitations exist:

Setting the target file property for FTP DL will cause the RTU to crash.

It is not possible to edit service control scripts used by a work order.
Scripting can increase the test case execution frequency, i.e. the number of test
activities per time unit. One consequence is that more data may be recorded. It is
therefore recommended to use a SIM capable of high uplink throughput in the upload
configuration.
8.3.12
APN Setting
APN from the OC is not used for smartphones. For smartphone testing the APN
retrieved from the SIM is used.
8.3.13
On-device IP Trace
No On-device IP trace store in log file.
8.3.14
F3607gw and i9506 Incompatibility
F3607gw and i9506 cannot co-exist on the same system due to driver incompatibility.
