TEMS Automatic 10.1 can be installed as a standalone system or as an upgrade to a TEMS Automatic 9.2. TEMS Automatic 10.1 RTU software is only compatible with RTU5 and RCU. TEMS Automatic 10.1 RTU is compatible with TEMS Discovery Enterprise 10.0.4. 6 NT14-33926, 1.0,11/7/2014 TEMS Automatic 10.1 RTU is not compatible with TEMS Presentation 3.0. However, users can continue running TEMS Automatic 9.0 RTUs and TEMS Presentation 3.0 on the same system as TEMS Automatic 10.1. NT14-33926, 1.0, 11/7/2014 7 3 Supported Features 3.1 Windows Server 2012 TEMS Automatic backend system can now be installed on Windows Server 2012. 3.2 SQL Server 2012 TEMS Automatic backend is now supporting SQL Server 2012. 3.3 Smartphone supports (Samsung GT i9506) The smartphone solution in TEMS Automatic 10.1 has been designed for on-device testing using i9506 phones in an MDU and with standalone setup. 3.4 - 3.5 New hardware introduction RCU – RTU Control Unit MDU – Multiple Device Unit On-device HTTP Web Kit Browsing Web browsing can be tested with a WebKit based browser running on the device. 3.6 On-device HTTP Get/Post HTTP Download and HTTP upload can be tested with Android SDK. 3.7 On-device Streaming HTTP (YouTube) Video streaming, i.e. YouTube, now supports the official YouTube application by Google for Android. 3.8 On-device Ping PING tests can be executed on the device. 3.9 On-device KPI triggers for HTTP UL/DL Support KPI triggers for HTTP UL/DL services. 3.10 CSFB monitoring User can now monitor CSFB (Circuit Switch Fallback) voice quality level. 3.11 Voice related KPIs The RTU can now monitor speech path delay and other voice centric metrics such as P.OLQA, volume DL. 8 NT14-33926, 1.0,11/7/2014 3.12 On-device BLIXT BLIXT, a Patent Pending Technology which test capacity on a live network without significantly impacting subscriber service. Using Blixt will reduce the cost and time required to test network performance and deploy new capacity by estimating the available bandwidth using Available Bandwidth Measurement (ABM) Technology. 4 Performance Performance tests have been performed using a test network with one i9506 connected to an RCU. The focus of this was to test maximum throughput on one i9506 phone via On-device testing. In summary, it was observed that the average throughput on On-device was up to 100-110 Mbps for HTTP download with acceptable CPU performance. For regular MDU testing, mostly we used four internal i9506 phones; 2 voice and 2 data. In addition, we have also tested that the MDU can successfully perform up to 4 parallel voice testing simultaneously. Due to slow charging rate for Samsung phones via USB connection, some standalone phones connected to the RCU may run out of battery during testing especially when doing heavy data on parallel. 5 Removed Features n/a NT14-33926, 1.0, 11/7/2014 9 6 Corrected Bugs This section includes corrections made in: TEMS Automatic 10.1.1 Defects Corrected in TEMS Automatic 10.1.1 ID Summary Subsystem 91229 Youtube streaming failed to start Data Services 96033 RTU fails with script termination, after that no script can be run until reboot Work Order 96396 i9506: Incorrect FW version is displayed in OC Operator Console 96552 FTP UL on RAT GSM often (always?) end with FTP Upload Data Data Services Transfer Cutoff Error message 96784 DU HW casing: Not possible to eject SIM MDU/Hardware 97773 MDU Test: Voice Quality Activity stop/hang during AudioSync.Stop() MDU/Hardware 97862 RelTA10.1 ‐‐ Cannot run 4 ACU voice test simultaneously Voice Service 98105 DU i9506 stuck in Dial activity Voice Service 98158 MCU FW 6.2.0.1 uses SIM slot 2 as default in MDU MDU/Hardware 98685 Rel TA 10.1_F3607_constant reboot if f3607 is the upload device RTU 99573 Rel TA 10.1_Streaming activity intermittently failed to start. Data Services 98101 F3607gw and i9506 cannot co-exist on the same system due to driver incompatibility. RTU 99717 UE WebKit: HTTP GET activity stuck with no further progress. Data Services 100392 When a standalone phone is plugged in and disableRmuDetectionAndEnableStand aloneMode need to be set to true in B:\BIN\Configuration\RmuConfigurati on\RmuSettings.config, otherwise the standalone phone won't be detected in OC. RTU/Smartphone 8.1 TEMS Pocket Remote 10.0 Call Generator Support Due to limitations in the Android operating system, TEMS Pocket Remote 10.0 does not support voice calls towards analogue call generators. 8.2 RSI User Rights On test system with Windows XP SP3, RSI does not start when the user only belongs to group 'Users', The solution is to let a user belonging to group 'Administrators' log in and change permissions for 'Users' in registry and local dir. After that change the RSI will be able to run as normal even for a user belonging to the group 'Users'. 12 NT14-33926, 1.0,11/7/2014 8.3 RTU Limitations The TEMS Automatic 10.1 RTU does not support all features available in TEMS Automatic 9.0 RTUs. For more details please refer to TEMS Automatic 10. 1 Product Description document. 8.3.1 Supported HW TEMS Automatic 10.1 RTU software is only compatible with RTU5. 8.3.2 Data support The following data services are not supported: - WAP - MMS - SMS 8.3.3 ODM HTTPs ODM HTTPs is not supported. 8.3.4 HSDPA UE category It is not possible to set HSDPA UE category from the Operator Console. 8.3.5 Ericsson F3607gw control features All control features of Ericson F3607gw are not supported, including: Disable EDGE Disable HSPA GSM decoder selection WCDMA decoder selection Enable/disable C/I and C/A measurements 8.3.6 Trigger: Disable on Roaming The trigger Disable on Roaming is not supported. 8.3.7 Network Bandwidth Testing Full duplex is not supported. 8.3.8 Ethernet testing Ethernet testing is not supported. 8.3.9 SIM sharing Two devices should not share one SIM. NT14-33926, 1.0, 11/7/2014 13 8.3.10 Manual upload Manual upload is not supported. 8.3.11 Scripting The test case scripting feature introduces multiple degrees of freedom. However, all features are not advised to use on the RTU. Detailed recommendations can be found in TEMS Service Control Script Designer User’s Manual and TEMS Automatic Measurement Methodology. For example, the following limitations exist: Setting the target file property for FTP DL will cause the RTU to crash. It is not possible to edit service control scripts used by a work order. Scripting can increase the test case execution frequency, i.e. the number of test activities per time unit. One consequence is that more data may be recorded. It is therefore recommended to use a SIM capable of high uplink throughput in the upload configuration. 8.3.12 APN Setting APN from the OC is not used for smartphones. For smartphone testing the APN retrieved from the SIM is used. 8.3.13 On-device IP Trace No On-device IP trace store in log file. 8.3.14 F3607gw and i9506 Incompatibility F3607gw and i9506 cannot co-exist on the same system due to driver incompatibility. 9 Contact Information For customer support contact information, please visit our website: www.ascom.com/networktesting 10 14 Appendix NT14-33926, 1.0,11/7/2014
