BOWLS SOUTH AFRICA – NATIONAL CAMP
The Executive together with the National Selectors take pleasure in inviting the following candidates to attend a national camp
on 19/20 September 2014 at the Wanderers Bowling Club in Johannesburg. The candidates travelling from outside
Johannesburg together with the National Selectors will be expected to arrive at the Wanderers Hotel on Thursday evening the
18 September and arrangements will be made for their departure on Sunday morning 21 September 2014. The selectors shall
depart late afternoon.
Candidates are kindly requested to respond to Jacqui Atkinson, at the contact details below, on or before Friday 18

Candidates will be required to complete various tests and to participate in games arranged by the selectors over the two days
in order for selections to the following to be completed.
The Gold Squad.
The Peter Richards International Pairs.
The International Quadrangular.
The South African Masters.
The Gold Squad.
Those selected to the Gold Squad shall attend special training camps to prepare individuals to represent South Africa in
international events during 2015.
The Peter Richards International Pairs.
Bowls SA has entered two teams to participate in this event taking place in Harare, Zimbabwe over 14 – 16 November 2014.
These teams are not awarded Protea colours however, they participate under the colours of Bowls SA. One team of male
bowlers and a further team of female bowlers shall be announced following the camp.
The International Quadrangular.
South Africa together with Namibia, Zimbabwe and a South African Junior team will participate in a Quadrangular event being
held in Windhoek, Namibia over 31 October – 2 November 2014. The Protea Team shall consist of five male and five female
bowlers from the Gold Squad. The Junior South African Team will also include five male and five female bowlers under the age
of 30 years. A further team of Seniors will also be announced following the national camp.
The South African Masters.
The usual groups of Open, Senior and Junior bowlers to participate in the South African Masters taking place at The
Wanderers Bowling Club in Johannesburg over 13 – 15 February 2015 will be announced shortly after the national camp.
District Secretaries are kindly requested to ensure that candidates from their respective districts receive a copy
of this circular.
