2014 CARLING BLACK LABEL CUP IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION
Excitement is growing as Stadium Management South Africa (SMSA) gears up to host the
2014 Carling Black Label Cup at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 26 July. The Soweto Derby
between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates is scheduled to kick-off at 15:30 and the stadium
gates open at 12:00. Fans are urged to arrive early for the match to not miss the scheduled
live entertainment from hit makers Uhuru, Tokyo Groove, Dreamteam (Hip hop group form
Durban) and Voix De Ville, in addition to the live performances numerous sponsor
activations will keep the patrons entertained before the match. Consideration should be
given to arrive at the FNB Stadium at least two hours before kick-off time, to allow for
enough time to pass through the turnstile gates.
All stand tickets for the Derby have sold out; however Hisense Lounge packages are still
available and can be purchased via Computicket outlets. Fans are cautioned against
bringing in any food, alcohol or drinks to the Stadium as these will not be permitted past the
entry gates. The stadium will have a host of various food and beverage outlets, a total of 32
formal kiosks, 30 informal trading stands, 150 mobile vendors and a total of 16 bars all in
operation from gates open.
Limited pre-paid parking is available at the Nasrec Expo Centre, parking ticket sales from
R20 general parking and up to R250 for the premium parking, parking tickets are sold via
Computicket outlets. Strictly no parking tickets will be sold on match day. If driving to the
stadium precinct please be cautioned that there will be no vehicles access past the road
closure points if you do not possess the relevant event day parking ticket. Motorists are
advised not to be directed to illegal parking areas by illegal car guards.
Those fans using parking facilities at the Stadium Precinct are urged to take heed of road
closures at the following intersections; N17 and N1 North on – ramp, N1 North off- ramp and
N17, Nasrec Road and Juskei Drive, Soweto Highway and Mentz Street, Pat Mbatha and
True Street, Booysens Reserve Road and Crownwood Road, Booysens Reserve Road
and Amethyst Road. M1 off – ramp and Nasrec Road, N1 North off- ramp and Rand Show
Road, Soweto Highway and N1 South on – ramp, Nasrec Road and Rand Show Road,
Nasrec Road and Adcock Ingram, Rand Show Road and Golden Highway, N17 and Nasrec

Due to expected traffic volumes at the Stadium precinct, public transport will be the main
form of transport to the FNB Stadium; especially laid-on public transportation such as Top 6
Taxis, Rea Vaya, Metrorail and KTK Mini Bus Shuttle services. Top 6 Taxis cost R10 to the
Stadium and R12 back on various routes including the MTN taxi rank (Noord Street & Twist
Street); Johannesburg CBD; Moroka Police Station; Maponya Mall; Kliptown Post Office;
Dobsonville Police Station; Meadowlands Police Station; Phefeni Taxi Rank; Cross Road
Taxi Rank and Dube Station Taxi Rank.
The frequency of the Rea Vaya bus service will be stepped up from the normal service to 5
minutes, from Thokoza Park (Soweto bound fans), Ellis Park and Library Gardens East Rea
Vaya Stations (for CBD and ParkTown bound fans). Fans will be dropped off and be picked
up at the FNB Stadium Rea Vaya Station after the match. Busses start departing from Ellis
Park, Library Gardens and Dobsonville from 12pm and Thokoza Park at 11:15am with the
last busses heading off to FNB Stadium at 3pm from Ellis Park and Thokoza Park and
2:30pm from Dobsonville. Fans can purchase return tickets selling at R25 per person or a
one-way ticket for R13 at the Rea Vaya Stations.
Metrorail services will depart from Vereeniging (13:00), Lerella (12:55), Springs (12:25), De
Wildt (Pretoria North at 11:50), Mabopane (12:00), Pienaarspoort (12:05) & Saulsville (from
11h50). Train tickets cost R40 a return ticket, available free parking at the train stations. For

FNB Stadium has a strict No Smoking policy and fans are commended to adhere to such
restrictions within the Stadium. SMSA reminds fans that the unauthorised sale of tickets at
FNB Stadium is not permitted and could lead to arrest and prosecution. A heavy police
presence will be at the stadium, in addition a total of 1215 security official, 140 Traffic
officials and 100 community patrollers will be deployed at the event.
A large medical contingency will be active within the venue, a total of 68 medical staff
including 5 ambulances and 4 response vehicles with a total 12 medical canters will be
operational at the venue. In the event of an emergency, spectators must go to the nearest
Event Staff Member, Security personnel or alternatively contact the Venue Operating Centre
(VOC) on 082 367 4297, Booysens SAPS on (011) 433 5223 or SMSA Reception on (011)
247 5300.Guests are encouraged to report any issues or concerns to a nearby staff
member. Staff will be on hand to assist patrons including those with physical disabilities with
serious emergencies. Emergency numbers, event details and evacuation procedures will be
relayed on the stadium big screens during the event.
