Ocean Knoll Elementary Annual Pledge Drive Give the gift of education – a better world begins with you. August 18, 2014 Dear Ocean Knoll Families, Welcome back to school! We are excited for the year ahead of us. As a California Distinguished Elementary School and an International Baccalaureate (IB) Authorized World School, Ocean Knoll offers your child a unique and rigorous academic curriculum. Our enrichment classes (a.k.a. Terrific Learning Provided (TLP) rotations)—Music, Science, Nutrition, and Garden—as well as Spanish, Art, and Reading Counts are at the heart of what makes Ocean Knoll the special school that it is. Without them our students and teachers would not be able to enjoy the stimulating and engaging classroom experiences that they have. However, these programs and the specialized teachers who teach the programs are not publicly funded. They exist through the amazing generosity of our Ocean Knoll community. This year, these programs are estimated to cost over $250 per student. We are encouraging you to contribute to the Annual Pledge Drive sponsored by the Ocean Knoll Encinitas Educational Foundation (EEF) to support our enrichment classes and expand your child’s education. We are requesting a contribution of $250 per student. This equates to $1.40 per school day—less than $30 per month. Tuition at local private schools averages $500-$1200 per month. That is a huge savings for an education that rivals any private education in San Diego County. Please give as soon as possible, but be sure to give by Monday, September 15, 2014 for a chance to win an Ocean Knoll Farm Basket, Ocean Knoll Beach Basket, or a photo session with awardwinning photographer and Ocean Knoll parent, Kristy Ambrogio!
