Message from the President
“Let’s have fun
kababayan. Mabuhay!
Happy Halloween and
Advance Merry
Christmas!!!”
Maity Sabinay Minars
As President of Bluegrass
Filipino American
Association, Inc. (BFAAI),
I am honored, proud and
“I therefore enjoin all of
our members who have
been on the sidelines all
these years to take a
more active part in the
BFAAI projects and
activities. There will be
more harmony if we all
work in concert. The
burden might be heavy,
but it becomes lighter
when it is shared.”
Cesar Agtarap, MD
thankful for the confidence
you have given me. I will
do my best for the
organization and its
members and I will need
the cooperation from each
one of you. I know that if
we work together we can
make things happen. I am
encouraging each one of
you to participate in our
near coming activities.
The Masquerade ball on
November 1 is a fund
raising event for one of
our kababayans that was
hit by a drunk driver. We
are also bringing the
tradition of Kuratsa dance
as a fund raising activity
during our annual
Christmas party. We will
pick 5 couples to dance
off and the couple that can
raise the highest money
will be crowned as the
BFAAI King and Queen
for 2014. Kimona Fashion
Show will also highlight
the night.
2013 Officers: Thank you!
It is because of your
dedication, labor and
sacrifices for the
organization that we still
exist.
Thank you for devoting
your precious time and
resources amidst of the
busy and demanding
schedules you may have. We know
that you will always be here for us!
Mabuhay at Maraming Salamat!

Memorial Day Picnic
Ang Ama’t Ina Ko
It was once again a
beautiful day to be
outdoors for the annual
BFAAI Memorial day
picnic on May 25, 2014.
The beauties of our young
Reyna Elena’s decorated
the park.
Sa Lahat ng tao
dito sa mundo
Wala pang tutulad
Sa ama’t ina ko.
Food was plenty.
Everybody brought their
favorite dish to share.

Sila ay nagsikap
Na ako’y lumaki
At sumayang ganap.
Kaya naman ngayon
Ang lagi kong layon
Sa aking magulang
Ako’y makatulong.

Consular Outreach Mission
The Philippine Embassy in
Washington, D.C., in
cooperation with the
Bluegrass FilipinoAmerican Association, Inc.
conducted the second
Consular Outreach
Mission on July 5, 2014 in
Lexington, KY. Filipinos
from all over the states
came to renew their
Philippine passport or
apply for dual citizenship.
With the leadership of our
current president and the
teamwork of officers,
volunteers and donors it was
once again a successful
endeavor.
Positive feedback
regarding the well
organized event and the
friendly and courteous
officers and volunteers
were received from the
out of state participants.
Labor Day Picnic
These ladies were taking
a pose after a good turn
around in registration of
new members during the
Labor Day Picnic on
August 31, 2014 at the
Shillito Park. The storm
did not hinder our
members and new
members to come and
enjoy the food, fellowship
and good music.
It is always good to see
old friends and meet new
ones.
