The matches begin at 11:00AM, come along and join us for a great days high speed “Goals Only” hurling tournament. Hot food will be served during the event. Ladies Football 7 A-Side blitz The Club are hosting a 7 A-Side Ladies football blitz on Saturday 4th October commencing at 3pm, this will give anyone who has missed out on football at either U16 or senior level a chance to get some game time and to try out the 3G Pitch, please let a committee member know if you will be able to attend. On Saturday the 11th of October at 9.00PM the club will host a night for the U14 All Ireland Division 4 Shield Feile winning team and relive and celebrate this fantastic achievement. Doire Nuis GAC 4th October 2014 Weekly Bulletin PAGE 2 CRAOBH CIARAIN U21 TEAM ARE THROUGH TO COUNTY FINAL Craobh Ciarain U21 team amalgamation of Derrynoose/Middletown/Madden have made it through to their first U21 Championship final after a deserving win against a strong running Shane O’Neill’s outfit with early points from Conor Mc Nally & Sean Lennon Shane O’Neill’s responded with a point before Niall Smith fired home the first goal of the game. Shane O’Neill’s dominating the middle sector and running at pace struck a goal & a point but Craobh Ciarain answered in emphatic style as Sean Lennon soloed through the Shane’s defence with a low shot to the net and added another point in the next attack. Craobh Ciarain starting to get a foothold in the game even though missing a few goal chances with over hit passes Conor Grimley struck an excellent 45m free over the bar & Conall Mc Nally tagged on another point as Shane O’Neill’s responded with three points to leave Craobh Ciarain two points up at the break., Craobh Ciarain dominated the early exchanges during the first fifteen minutes of the second half with four points from frees by Conor Mc Nally to one in return from Shane’s but they came back strongly over the next ten minutes with three points in succession, with eight minutes left on the clock it was down to a two point game but Craobh Ciarain pushed home with further points from Stephen Keenan, Conor Mc Nally & David Mc Creesh to one from Shane’s to run out deserving winners. This was a excellent team effort all round with some excellent passages of play, we now await the winners of Clann Eireann v St Peters quarter final replay tie with the winner to play Keady in the semi-final. Our club has a very good representation on the team with Joseph Brennan, Thomas Lennon, Sean Lennon, Stephen Keenan, Conall Mc Nally, Conor Mc Nally, Cathal Mc Naughton, David Mc Creesh, Liam Mc Grane, Mark Fitzpatrick.
