CRAOBH CIARAIN U21 TEAM ARE THROUGH TO COUNTY FINAL
Craobh Ciarain U21 team amalgamation of Derrynoose/Middletown/Madden have made
it through to their first U21 Championship final after a deserving win against a strong
running Shane O’Neill’s outfit with early points from Conor Mc Nally & Sean Lennon
Shane O’Neill’s responded with a point before Niall Smith fired home the first goal of
the game. Shane O’Neill’s dominating the middle sector and running at pace struck a
goal & a point but Craobh Ciarain answered in emphatic style as Sean Lennon soloed
through the Shane’s defence with a low shot to the net and added another point in the
next attack. Craobh Ciarain starting to get a foothold in the game even though missing a
few goal chances with over hit passes Conor Grimley struck an excellent 45m free over
the bar & Conall Mc Nally tagged on another point as Shane O’Neill’s responded with
three points to leave Craobh Ciarain two points up at the break., Craobh Ciarain dominated the early exchanges during the first fifteen minutes of the second half with four
points from frees by Conor Mc Nally to one in return from Shane’s but they came back
strongly over the next ten minutes with three points in succession, with eight minutes
left on the clock it was down to a two point game but Craobh Ciarain pushed home
with further points from Stephen Keenan, Conor Mc Nally & David Mc Creesh to one
from Shane’s to run out deserving winners. This was a excellent team effort all round
with some excellent passages of play, we now await the winners of Clann Eireann v St
Peters quarter final replay tie with the winner to play Keady in the semi-final.
