C3-ilex, LLC C3-TREK Core Monitoring Services Core Monitoring Services C3-ilex has developed software to support the acquisition and data exchange required for interfacing to nuclear fuel / core monitoring systems. Our software supports the acquisition of data from the core such as LPRM data, GAFs, and rod position information, processing of that data including performing core thermal power calculations, and transmitting of data to and from fuel core monitoring systems such as 3D Monicore, Gardel, and PowerPlex. C3-ilex has also developed data interface applications for nuclear utilities using General Electric Hitachi (GEH) NUMAC devices. The C3-TREK-Core Monitoring Services consist of Windows Services and Windows Client user-interface applications. The Services will usually run on the Plant Process Computer (PPC) or alternatively on a separate PC or server. Operators communicate with the Services across the network using one or more client applications. Replacement applications are available for plants using NUMAC RWM, ATIP, MTIP, WRNM, and / or PRNM devices. The interface to the GEH NUMAC equipment is typically accomplished via C3-ilex’s DASie (Data Acquisition System importer/exporter) device. For updated NUMAC Systems, the DASie interface to the NUMAC components is accomplished via a GEH supplied NUMAC Interface Computer (NIC) module. For applications that require data transmission over a Level 4 boundary, C3-ilex offers a variant of the DASie called DASie Data Diode to support one-way communication. The DASie consists of one or more interface cards installed in a rack-mountable chassis. Each card is capable of handling up to five fiber optic data streams from NUMAC devices, legacy DAS, or an Ethernet interface to the GEH NIC or other modern DAS. The DASie provides the output (i.e., message forwarding) and data retrieval communication paths between Core Monitoring applications and the plant DAS / NUMAC devices. The DASie translates the data streams into ones that can be accessed by network addressable computers using TCP/IP or via an optional one-way Data Diode using UDP protocols. Demandable Function Region Core Map Region Core Monitor System (CMS) Client Services CMS Client Services is a Windows application providing single screen views of available functions, options, and interfaces for specific NUMAC devices. The specific NUMAC functions accessible via the CMS Client Service are independent of each other, and a customer can have any combination of the functions (i.e., RWM, ATIP, WRNM and/or PRNM). Information/Status Region Features, options, and data presentation for each of the specific NUMAC devices incorporates a consistent look and feel and in general consists of three regions of interest: 1) Core Map; 2) Demandable Functions; and 3) Information/Status. RWM Client • Core Map (CRD Information, Connection Status, User Action Monitoring) • Demandable Functions (Upload Reports, Download Sequences, Validate/Edit Sequences) • Information/Status (User Actions, Results, Error Processing) ATIP / MTIP Client • Core Map (TIP Information, Connection Status, User Action Monitoring, Machine Status) • Demandable Functions (Scan Type, TIP Data, ATIP Processing & Analysis) • Information/Status (User Actions, Results, Logs, Error Processing) WRNM / PRNM Client • Core Map (LPRM Information, Connection Status, User Action Monitoring) • PRNM Demandable Functions (Download GAFTs & %CTP, Upload Selectable PRNM Data) • Information/Status (User Actions, Results, Error Processing) Scram Timing Client • Acquire CRD data from the GE NUMAC RWM, Analogic ANDS, or other DAS upon detection of a scram event • Maintain a history of scram time events in the C3-TREK Event Archive database • A Scram Time Analysis function wherein CRD performance is evaluated against established criteria. • A Report Generation function that allows a user to create reports that detail control rod scram times For additional information on C3-ilex’s TREK and DASie Systems, contact your C3-ilex Sales representative at 510 659-8300 (Fremont, CA) or (208) 891-3774 (Meridian, ID) or visit us at www.c3ilex.com
