About the Institute
M.S. RAMAIAH INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY (MSRIT) is a Self
Financing
Institution
Established
In
Bangalore in the year 1962 by the
industrialist and philanthropist, Late Dr. M S
Ramaiah. MSRIT are managed by the
Gokula Education Foundation (GEF). The
mission statement of GEF is “To deliver
education and health for the betterment of
mankind”. MSRIT has an ISO 9001:2008
certification from BVQI. All eligible
Engineering Departments offering Bachelor
degree programmes have been accredited by
NBA. The institute is a participant of the
Technical Education Quality Improvement
Programme (TEQIP), an initiative of the
Government of India.
Some of the distinguished features of
MSRIT are: State of the Art Laboratories,
Individual computing facility to all faculty
members,

wide
networking
connecting all 2000 systems to the net. The
Centre for Advanced Training and
Continuing Education, Centre for Research
and
Industrial
Consultancy,
and
Entrepreneurship Development Cell have
been set up on campus. MSRIT has a strong
Placement and Training Department with a
committed team, a fully equipped Sports
Department, Large Air-conditioned Library

programmes in the year 2007.
About the Workshop
RF and Terahertz technologies have been and
are among the rapidly advancing fields. Some
applications of the technologies are in security
systems, mobile radio networks, multimedia
applications, sensor networks, wireless medicine,
and so on. Among others, multiple antenna
systems is a major thrust area in wireless
technology; these systems are being actively
deployed in 4G mobile communication. Properly
deployed multiple antenna systems enhance the
communication capabilities and overcome the
detrimental effects of any wireless channel.
Extensive research is being conducted on several
aspects related to Terahertz technologies.
Research in antenna and microwave engineering
also extensively contributes to developments in
Terahertz technology, the discipline is broad, and
includes
advances
in
computational
electromagnetic and numerical techniques to the
development of novel structures for improving
system performance. Research related to planar
microwave devices is rapidly advancing due to
their ease of integration into popular electronic
circuitry.
The primary objective of the workshop is to
introduce the audience to various areas of cuttingedge research in Terahertz technologies, antenna
and microwave engineering. Research with
extensive applicability in modern society would be
discussed. Academicians and researchers with an
established track record would be the resource
persons for the workshop. The participants would
get an overview of the ongoing research in various
thrust areas in RF and terahertz technologies. This
would help them attain the capability to identify
various interesting research topics and their
applicability.
Intended Audience
Faculties from affiliated colleges of VTU, NonVTU, Bangalore University, Autonomous
Colleges & Research Organizations. Engineers
from Industries.
