Another Successful Gaylord Golf Classic!
The 2014 Gaylord Golf Classic
celebrated twenty five years of
golf and fundraising this year!
Over 100 golfers participated in
the event, and an estimated
$65,000 was raised to benefit the
Sports Association! Thank you
to the efforts of the Golf Classic
Committee, as well as all of our
sponsors! A special thank you to
our title sponsor PMA, who has
been supporting the program for
11 consecutive years! Also, a
big thank you to all of the Sports
Association members who
contributed to the Golf
Fundraising Challenge this year
to help us meet our goal!
Meet the Banditos! Thank you Mags and Gregg!
GHO Tournament & Award
The annual GHO, Gaylord Hospital Open, was
held on June 16th at The Farms Country Club.
This tournament consisted of a morning of golf
for physically challenged golfers. Twenty
golfers enjoyed a beautiful day of golf, and
some were featured on NBC News! Our
recipient of the “For the Love of the Game”
Award was also announced at the GHO.
Congratulations to Chris Balsley (photo below)
who received this award for “exemplifying a
tireless passion for the sport of golf!” This
award is given in the honor of Paul Hickey.
Thank you Chris for all you do for the Sports
Association Golf Club!
Gaylord Gauntlet
The inaugural Gaylord Gauntlet was a huge
success! Over 400 runners came out to the
Gaylord campus to compete in this 3.3 mile
obstacle course trail run! This included
Shane Mosko, the first adaptive athlete to
complete the Gauntlet! Shane completed the
course with a team of friends, Sports
Association staff and Gaylord therapists!
Shane and the team conquered all the
obstacles, including two nine foot walls, a
rock to climb over, a rope swing, log
obstacles and a waterslide!
