V a c a n c y Project Manager: Good Participatory Practice (ECHO) Main purpose of the job The purpose of this position is to implement sustainable and strategic good participatory practices (GPP), including stakeholder engagement strategies and activities for the ECHO Study, a large-scale multi-country clinical trial run by a multi-party research consortium Location Hillbrow, Johannesburg Key performance areas Develop, implement and monitor GPP strategies for the ECHO study, including key study milestones Provide training and technical assistance to trial sites to support site-level implementation of GPP Strong ability to think strategically, leverage opportunities and develop proactive and creative strategies in support of building and strengthening stakeholder engagement with key players in the field, including at community, national and global levels. Coordinate, convene and facilitate meetings, workshops and trainings from start to finish. Coordinate and convene a Global Community Advisory Board (CAB), comprised of advocates and other invested civil society members Experience working with high-level stakeholders and diverse communities (e.g. women's groups, gov't, policymakers, advocates) preferably in multiple African countries. Participate in the ECHO Implementation Committee and provide feedback on GPP to the broader study team. Required minimum education and training Bachelor's degree required preferably in public health or related field. Masters’ degree will be advantageous. Required minimum work experience At least 5 years Project Management experience in community engagement and/or advocacy, including convening stakeholder meetings and conducting training, preferably in a public health, reproductive and sexual health or clinical research environment Excellent facilitation skills as well as strong verbal communication and writing skills in English. V a c a n c y Demonstrated project management experience and strong organisational skills. Proficiency in MS Office Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities Experience in public health or clinical research environment Proficiency in other South African / regional African languages Able to work in a highly pressurized and challenging environment. Ability to work in a team Self-motivated Occasional local and regional (Southern and East Africa) travel will be required.
