The mission of ANAC is to foster the professional
development of nurses involved in the delivery of
health care to persons infected with or affected
by HIV and to promote the health, welfare and
rights of all HIV-infected persons.
ANAC strives to achieve this mission by:
•Creating an effective network among nurses in HIV/AIDS care
•Exchanging information, experiences and ideas at monthly meetings and conferences
•Providing leadership to the nursing community
in matters related to HIV infection
•Advocating for HIV-infected persons
•Promoting social awareness concerning
HIV/AIDS issues
•Maintaining a focus on prevention
of further HIV infection

GNY ANAC Conference
Cicatelli Associates Inc. (CAI) is a local performance
site of the New York/New Jersey AIDS Education
and Training Center (NY/NJ AETC). The NY/NJ
AETC is the regional center for education and
training initiatives designed to meet the needs of
HIV/AIDS health care providers in the area.

Embracing Our Future
The Center is part of a network of 11 regional and
5 national centers that conduct targeted, multidisciplinary education and training programs for
health care providers treating persons living with
HIV/AIDS.

Under the direction of the HIV Center, Department
of Psychiatry, College of Physicians and Surgeons at
Columbia University, the NY/NJ AETC offers a
variety of training programs, supports 14 Local
Performance Sites and 4 Regional Resource
Centers.

These sites serve health care providers in their
local communities by providing HIV education and
training sessions. These sessions offer health care
providers access to the most current research and
treatment for HIV/AIDS and are designed to assist
providers in the provision of optimum quality

In the 31st year of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, the
Greater New York Chapter of the Association of
Nurses in AIDS Care (GNY ANAC) is convening
its 25th annual conference.
The purpose of this conference is to reflect on
the pivotal role HIV nurse specialists have played
since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS pandemic
and on the continued need for nurses with
specialized training, as the care and treatment
of HIV infected individuals evolves, and as
our expertise must expand to include other
infectious disease.

Inherent in these goals is the abiding commitment to the prevention of further HIV infection.

ANAC, all applicants must be a member in good
standing with national ANAC. If you are not
currently a member of national ANAC, please
complete a national application and separate

ANAC office (this is necessary before we can
