Hal White - University of West Florida

 Hal White Harold M. (Hal) White, Jr. is Senior Administrative Fellow and Professor of Ethics, Law & Policy at the University of West Florida. White served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UWF from 2002 to 2010. He received his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and went on to earn his doctorate in jurisprudence from the University of Miami. He holds a certificate in Higher Education Administration from Harvard University, a certificate in Earth Jurisprudence from Schumacher College, where he was Visiting Fellow in Earth Jurisprudence, and a certificate in International Law, Global Governance, and the Earth Charter Principles, from the United Nations University for Peace. White began his career as Professor of Law at Western State University College of Law in Los Angeles, where he pioneered courses in Space Law and was a member of an advisory committee to California Gov. Edmund G. Brown, Jr. on science and technology policy. He has advised numerous aerospace trade and professional associations, was co-­‐chair of the National Coordinating Committee for Space, and was a member both of the Board of Directors of the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition and also of the Academic Advisory Committee of the National Flight Academy. White also served as Special Deputy Attorney General of North Carolina, General Counsel for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW), and Chief of International Law and Acting Attorney General for the new country and former U.S. Trust Territory of the Federated States of Micronesia, where he culminated his service as a Delegate to the United Nations.
