Since 2008 Den Boer Baking Systems, VanderPol Waffle Systems and Tromp Bakery Equipment have
formed the Tromp Group. With an experience gained over more than 100 years, the Tromp Group is your
partner in complete production facilities. In 2014 The Tromp Group joined AMF Bakery Systems and
Reading Systems to form the Markel Bakery Group. With AMF (bread & bun), Reading (Baked Snacks)
and Tromp Group (Waffles, speciality breads, Pizza, Cake & Pie and Pastry) we cover virtually the entire
baking spectrum.
For our Finance department, we are looking for a fulltime
Financial controller
Education & experience
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a preferred proven experience in financial
control in international companies. Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on;
• Minimum 8 years of work experience in accounting or financial control;
• Manufacturing experience preferred;
• Understanding of DUTCH GAAP and preferable US GAAP or IFRS standards;
• Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple internal and external requests;
• Experience with VAT and transfer pricing;
• Experience with ERP systems, Account View, Trimergo and HFM;
• Experience in interfacing with external auditors and knowledge of statutory reporting requirements;
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Place in the organization
This position is part of the Tromp Group finance team, reporting to the Finance Director for Tromp Group. The
Controller directs the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for the three companies and
consolidates the Tromp Group business financial results. Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team
in daily accounting work and implement policies and procedures to improve Tromp Group control environment.
Tasks
The Financial Controller will play a key role in:
• Leads the accounting functions at all three plants. Assists the Finance director in developing and
implementing accounting policies, processes and internal controls at the Tromp Group.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly consolidated business financial statements including
appropriate consolidation level entries and HFM reporting, maintain and improve HFM reporting
needs.
• Provides actual vs. plan variance analysis, ensure that all ledgers and reports are closed and
prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide support for and coordination of audit activity and resources, both internal and external.
• Ensure timely recording and accurate reporting of costs, hours, invoices and accruals
• Performing financial project control and preparing analysis for higher management;
• Prepares VAT returns and review the VAT compliance
• Making financial analysis of business operations, revenue, fixed assets and OPEX;
• Reviewing actual results and budgets in order to translate results to sound and clear
management reporting;
• Preparing statistical reports;
• Working on projects in order to improve internal processes and act as advisor towards
management.
• Building strong internal relations and maintaining contact will be necessary to provide yourself
with the right information
• Assists the finance director and the General Manager in the preparation of both annual and
operational plan and long-term strategic plan including trend analysis and reporting, in support of
sales, service and operations, OPEX initiatives, capital expenditures, working capital, and cost
reduction activity.
• Direct the preparation of the monthly financial forecast – sales, revenue, expense, operating
profit, working capital, and cash.
• Analyze and communicate risks and opportunities to management for decision making.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the closing process and define ways to use existing
tools (such as HFM) to make improvements.
• Working closely together with the other accounting departments.
Responsibilities/authorization
Preparing & Delivering reliable, structured cost accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance.
Salary
€ 65.000,- to € 70.000,- fulltime.
Location
You will be stationed at Den Boer in Dalfsen, although you must be willing to travel to the other Tromp Group
companies: Tromp in Gorinchem and VanderPol in Bunschoten.
