ON/OFF Standby button Power button Temperature button Timer button Up control Down control Multifunction display Please read carefully before use and retain for future reference Instructions How induction hobs work: An induction hob heats in a unique way. A very strong magnetic field is created by electricity running through an electrical coil positioned under a ceramic plate. The ‘Induction current’, created by the magnetic field, generates heat in any cookware capable of being magnetised, while standing on the ceramic plate. Only the pan is heated – the ceramic plate remains relatively cool. As a result spilt food will not burn on to the surface and can be simply wiped off at the end of cooking. Choosing cookware for induction hob use: Only pans that can be magnetised, that have flat bottoms and are between 12cm and 26cm in diameter can be used on induction hobs. Suitable pans are: - Steel - Cast iron - Enamelled iron - Stainless Steel Unsuitable pans are: - Heat resistant glass - Ceramic containers - Copper - Aluminium pans/ pots - Round bottom pans - Pans/ pots less than 12cm in diameter Please read carefully before use and retain for future reference. Please read carefully before use and retain for future reference Protection System This unit has 10 different protection modes. When the induction cooker shows a malfunction it will stop working and an alarm will sound. The multifunction display will show a fault code. Press the ON/OFF standby button, this will clear the display and will turn the cooker off. Wait for 1 minute and turn the cooker on again. If the fault code is still showing then there is something wrong with the cooker. Below are the different error codes and their meanings: EO The circuit has a malfunction. The unit shows ‘’EO’’ and automatically stops working. Solution: check and arrange for a qualified technician to replace the motherboard. E1 The pan you are trying to use is not suitable or there is not a pan on the plate. The cooker shows ‘’E1’’ and automatically stops working. Solution: Switch to a suitable pan and place in the centre of the heating plate. E2 This means that the unit has overheated. The cooker will stop heating after the buzzer has ‘’beeped’’ 5 times. Solution: Allow the unit to cool fully before using again. E3 This is a voltage surge protection. When the input voltage is over 275V the cooker will stop working and show ‘’E3’’. It will work again when the voltage returns to the 145-275V range. E4 This is a low voltage protection. When the input voltage has already dropped below 145V the unit will stop working and show ‘’E4’’. It will work again when the voltage returns to the 145V-275V range. E5 This means that the sensor on the top plate has short circuited. The unit will stop working and show ‘’E5’’. Arrange for a qualified technician to check all inner parts and replace where necessary. E6 The sensor of the IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transistor) has short circuited. The cooker will stop working and show ‘’E6’’. Arrange for a qualified technician to check all inner parts and replace if necessary. E7 The top plate has overheated and the cooker has stopped working. Solution: Allow to cool completely before using again. Cleaning: Clean after each use. Switch the ON/OFF standby button and then disconnect from the power supply, allow to cool completely before cleaning. Hob plate: Clean with a warm damp cloth and washing up detergent. DO NOT submerge in water or put into a dishwasher. Casing: Clean with a warm damp cloth and washing up detergent. DO NOT submerge in water or put into a dishwasher. Air circulation ports: Use a vacuum cleaner to suck out dust. Please read carefully before use and retain for future reference. [Type text] Induction Hob 9854 Instructions CAUTIONS: Check that the electrical supply ratings of the appliance are correct for your home (see the rating label attached to the item). The induction hob must be connected via an earthed socket, which should have an individually rated load of above 10A. The plug must be fully pushed into the socket. Overheating could occur if a socket is shared and overloaded. PERSONS WITH PACEMAKERS SHOULD KEEP A MINIMUM DISTANCE OF 60CM FROM INDUCTION HOBS – SEEK THE ADVICE OF A DOCTOR. Do not insert plug with wet hands. Do not operated this device using a timer/ controller, or remote control system. Do not place the hob near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. Do not use the hob in high humidity conditions. The hob should be placed on a level stable worktop at least 10cm from walls or other solid obstructions. Do not use the induction hob on a metal table. Do not use the induction hob on a carpet or tablecloth – the air circulation fan ports are underneath the hob and could become blocked with fibres. Do not move the induction hob whilst in operation. Never move the hob by pulling on the power cord. Ensure that the power cord does not trail over the edge of the worktop and that it is kept away from any hot object. Do not operate the appliance if the power cord has been damaged. Arrange for the power cord to be replaced by a qualified professional. This appliance is not intended for us by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children. The hob plate may remain hot for a short period after cooking. Never use the appliance if it has been dropped, shows damage or does not function properly. Arrange for a qualified professional to repair the hob. DO NOT try to repair yourself. Use the appliance for its intended purpose only. Extreme caution must be used when moving pans containing hot oil or other hot liquids. Do not heat empty pans, as bases may distort and become ineffective for future use. Keep the unit clean and prevent foreign matter from entering the air circulation ports. Do not immerse the appliance in water. Do not place the induction hob close to devices or objects which are sensitive to magnetic fields – radios, TVs, recording devices, credit cards etc. Do not leave ‘out of use’ cookware on the hob plate – this will become hot if the hob is inadvertently switched on. The hob plate is temperature resistant glass. If it has been damaged in any way, even if the damage is minor, do not operate the unit. Do not attempt to insert wires or tools into the air circulation ports as this could lead to electric shock.
