Introduction
The GE Advantage
GE has many up-tower gearbox repair options to support
your fleet and help reduce costs. By replacing damaged
components and minimizing crane work, GE is helping
customers manage asset life-cycle costs and
reduce down-time.
GE’s up-tower repair services are currently available on our
1.X turbines. Each engineered repair features qualified parts,
customized tools and certified technicians to help ensure
units are returned to service quickly and safely. Specific scope
capabilities are located on the back side of this fact sheet.
Technical Description
Combined with GE’s PulsePOINT monitoring software,
thorough inspections, and extensive field expertise, up-tower
repairs can help keep cost down and production up.
GE’s proprietary tooling and engineering processes focus
on safe, reliable up-tower replacement of internal gearbox
components in high speed, intermediate, and low speed
stages. Replacing damaged components helps ensure gears,
bearings and lubrication are within specification, thereby
extending asset life.
