Technical Textiles holds an immense scope for the developing world in terms of employment, new industry, research and exports. The term 'Industrial Textiles' refers to a subgroup of a wider category of Technical Textiles, referring specifically to those textile products used in the course of manufacturing operations (such as filters, conveyor belts, abrasive substrates) or which are incorporated into other industrial products (such as electrical components, cables, flexible seals, acoustic and thermal insulation of industrial appliances). As the growth of conventional textile industry is approaching a level of saturation in terms of development, innovation and value-addition, it is high time that textile industry ventures more aggressively to take its rightful share in this rapid growing sector. The conference offers a platform to discuss current trends and to identify the potential opportunities in Industrial Textiles. The technical sessions of the conference consists of invited lectures by eminent speakers from reputed industries and institutes, oral and poster presentations by researchers. Areas of Plenary Talks & Presentations Authors are invited to submit abstract (maximum 500 words) in the following areas: v Textiles in Belts Construction: Conveyor Belts & Drive Belts v Industrial Filtration Textiles v Textiles for Industrial Abrasives v Ropes and Cordages v Textile Composites v Textiles for Battery Separators v Automobile Carpets, Thermal Insulation Materials & Interior Textiles v Scrubs, Industrial Wipes and Brushes v Interlinings v Coated Fabrics v Processing and Finishing of Industrial Textiles v Textiles for Decatising Cloth and Bolting Cloth v Textiles in Electronics: Printed Circuit Boards, Computer Printer Ribbon v Paper Making Fabrics v Textiles for Awnings v Smart Textiles v Textiles for Acoustics PSG College of Technology PSG College of Technology started in the year 1951 by the PSG & Son's Charities is an AICTE approved autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University and ISO 9001 Certified. It offers various undergraduate and post graduate programs for international students, which include two textile programmes i.e. 'Textile Design' and 'Innovative Textiles'. Modern education in textiles takes place in Münchberg. This education, which has developed from a traditional centre for textiles, has been unique for 150 years. Extensive laboratories and workshops with ultra-modern machines enable small groups of students to complete their studies successfully. The business, informatics, engineering and textile courses at Hof University of Applied Sciences are international, innovative and interdisciplinary. The university fosters close relationships with foreign universities, companies and organisations, in order that the students can gain significant experience abroad. Core competences of Hof University include composites, textile engineering, chemistry, industrial engineering and the design, planning and control of logistics and manufacturing processes (ERP systems and simulation). In the area of coating technology, the research focus lies on thin films with special properties. Projects with the local industry aim at increasing the lifetime of tools and machine parts. In collaboration with the University of Liberec (CZ), films with photocatalytic activity are prepared and investigated. Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM), Deakin University, Australia Call for Delegates Paper presented in the conference would enrich the knowledge of the delegates in the frontier areas of Industrial filtration textiles, Abrasives, Battery Separators, Textiles for Acoustics, Textile Composites, Coated Fabrics & Automobile Textiles. The deliberations and proceedings will be very valuable for the global textile audience and multinational companies.
