Conference Theme
PSG College of Technology, Hof University of Applied Sciences,
Fachhochschule, Germany, and Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM)
Deakin University, Australia in collaboration with Office of the Textile
Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India host the Second
International conference which aims at focusing on Products, Applications
and Prospects of Industrial Textiles. Technical Textiles holds an immense scope for the
developing world in terms of employment, new industry, research and exports. The term
'Industrial Textiles' refers to a subgroup of a wider category of Technical Textiles, referring
specifically to those textile products used in the course of manufacturing operations (such as
filters, conveyor belts, abrasive substrates) or which are incorporated into other industrial
products (such as electrical components, cables, flexible seals, acoustic and thermal insulation
of industrial appliances). As the growth of conventional textile industry is approaching a level
of saturation in terms of development, innovation and value-addition, it is high time that textile
industry ventures more aggressively to take its rightful share in this rapid growing sector.
The conference offers a platform to discuss current trends and to identify the potential
opportunities in Industrial Textiles. The technical sessions of the conference consists of invited
lectures by eminent speakers from reputed industries and institutes, oral and poster
presentations by researchers.

HOF University of Applied Sciences, Germany
University of Applied Sciences
Hof University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1994 in the heart of new Europe. It
offers various undergraduate and post graduate programs for international students, which
include two textile programmes i.e. 'Textile Design' and 'Innovative Textiles'. Modern
education in textiles takes place in Münchberg. This education, which has developed from a
traditional centre for textiles, has been unique for 150 years. Extensive laboratories and
workshops with ultra-modern machines enable small groups of students to complete their
studies successfully. The business, informatics, engineering and textile courses at Hof
University of Applied Sciences are international, innovative and interdisciplinary. The
university fosters close relationships with foreign universities, companies and organisations, in
order that the students can gain significant experience abroad. Core competences of Hof
University include composites, textile engineering, chemistry, industrial engineering and the
design, planning and control of logistics and manufacturing processes (ERP systems and
simulation). In the area of coating technology, the research focus lies on thin films with special
properties. Projects with the local industry aim at increasing the lifetime of tools and machine
parts. In collaboration with the University of Liberec (CZ), films with photocatalytic activity are
prepared and investigated.
