SEFAR TETEX® DRY
A new dimension in vacuum belt drying
2
Industry-leading expertise | Superior results for our customers
Today, drying processes are widely
used in food product processing.
In many cases vacuum belt dryers are
the method of choice due to their
efficiency in handling large volumes and
having a gentle drying process.
Typical applications and products
include:
Plant extracts
Hydrolyzed vegetable proteins (HVP)
Malt drinks Bakery products (yeast)
Meat products (broth)
Specialized nutritional products
Fruit juice concentrate
Pharmaceutical extracts
Sefar offers a wide range of synthetic
fabrics in open and closed mesh for
conveying and drying products.
Our vacuum dryer belts are made of
polyester (PET) polymer – selected
according to your demands.
Belts having different pore sizes
for different solid contents (viscosity)
of products
Customized solutions that meet
the industry’s most demanding requirements (e.g. high temperatures,
chemical resistance and long lifetime)
Integrated production: all crucial
steps from yarn production, weaving,
finishing and fabrication of ready-touse belts
More than 180 years experience
in the food industry. With over 35
years supplying belts for vacuum

Drawing from market-leading expertise
in all aspects of precision fabrics, Sefar
has developed a unique and innovative product range for today’s needs in
vacuum belt drying. Covering the most
commonly-used bandwidths of drying
temperature and solid content levels,
SEFAR TETEX® DRY fabrics are ideal for
a multitude of applications. They provide an efficient and attractive alternative to PTFE coated / non-permeable
materials. The individual pore sizes of
the fabrics provide the ability to match
the right product viscosity with the desired steam permeability. The average
long service life combined with its low
down-time properties make them ideal
for today’s industry requirements.

SEFAR TETX® DRY fabrics are suitable for application temperature of up to 140° C. Usage at 140 - 165° C is possible
and common, but will result in reduced service life and higher belt elongation.
SEFAR TETEX® DRY | Product benefits
Permeability properties
Unique permeability settings allow steam to
penetrate the fabric and eliminate bubble
formation while sustaining performance with
solid content > 30%.
Mechanical stability
Precision controlled fabric finishing provides low
shrinkage/elongation and efficient belt alignment
as well as long service life (up to 14 months).
Suitable for application temperature of up to 165° C.
Reduced downtime
Fast and easy installation supported by efficient
closing system. Belt is ideal for CIP cleaning.
Clogging resistance
Smooth surface makes product release easy and
reduces particle entrapment in the pores of the
fabric.
Food safety compliancy
All components comply with food safety
regulations – during full service life.

Because SEFAR TETEX® DRY is a high
precision open-mesh fabric, the water
evaporating after washing and restarting the dryer does not condensate
under the belt. Steam can permeate
through the fabric resulting in earlier
operational readiness and less strain
on the fabric.
SEFAR TETEX® DRY | Making-up of belts
Making-up of belts
Sefar’s market-leading expertise not
only includes providing the most suitable fabric for customers’ applications,
it also means offering the best possible
styles of making-up. Fitting the belts
to the specific machine requirements
is vital for smooth and efficient performance.
Sefar belts can be fitted with an alligator closure:
this results in a fast, easy and reliable connection of
belt ends. Each closure strip is made from one piece,
reducing the risk of individual teeth breaking off and
getting into the product stream.
SEFAR TETEX® DRY belts are also available without a
closure. This allows maximum flexibility for example
when ultrasonic spot-welding is preferred.
