The librarians and by connection the library at the Brockport High school. Are fantastic. They are always willing to
help anybody. They keep the books current and interesting for people of all ages. The library has books and
electronics the make it friendly to everyone.
The best part is the people. Everyone is so eager and willing to help, they make life easy for teachers! When I
needed a class set of books, they found them through an inter-library loan and were very accommodating in letting
me use them longer than anticipated. Every experience I have had with this library has been positive!

Our library hosts numerous opportunities to get both student and teacher groups together for reading activities.
The librarians go out of their way to help teachers create webpages and activities.
The library is condusive for school projects and challenge student thinking. The search engines on the computers
and media sources are excellent tools to prepare our students for college and career readiness as well as make
them successful on their projects and term papers. I think the greatest asset of our library are the ladies who work
there. The librarian and her staff are willing to help at anytime and very accomodating. I couldn't ask for a better
group of professionals to work with, to receive help from, and proudly call them my colleagues!
As a teacher, I have always appreciated the hard work our staff does for this school. I have collaborated with our
head librarian on a number of student research projects. When students need books that we currently do not have,
this staff immediately reaches out to neighboring districts to help us out. The library staff also puts on events for the
student body that promote reading; the most recent example would be our YA Café; where administrators/staff
conduct a mini book talk about a book they have read recently. These are some of the reasons I love our library!

Our library is the best because so is our librarian. Kathy is always willing to help both students and teachers with a
smile and sincere intention. Our school simply would not run as smoothly without her!
I have been a teacher for 25 years and I have never worked with more energetic, competent, helpful, and
knowledgeable librarians! They truly LOVE their job and it definitely rubs off on the students and staff. They are
loved and respected by all! They open their library up early and keep it open late for the students. They are willing
to help who ever walks through their doors! They make researching fun!!! Our library has worked hard to keep our
library updated even with all the budget cuts! They know how important it is for the students and their education!
they are the BEST!!!!
It's bright and cheery. New books are always out on display and I'm always impressed with the availability of the
current most popular books Librarians are very helpful.
I love our library because of the wonderful curriculum support provided by our amazing Librarian and staff! They go
above and beyond for all our students.

I teach regents Global to students with disabilities. I can always count on our library to help put together projects
that my students find challenging yet not impossible. The librarian locates websites, books, and other materials at
their reading levels even if she has to borrow from other libraries in or out of the district. She orders books to
accommodate their academic skills for future use. She is always ready and willing to help in any way when I
propose a topic and ask for help setting up a "library field trip". She sets up stations to help students navigate their
way through the library materials, something my students find very intimidating on their own. When my students
arrive at the library, the librarian spends her time explaining how to use the library resources, where items are
located, and offers to work with them while they are in the library. She also will pull out materials for us to use in
our classroom when it is impossible for me to take my class to the library. It is difficult to find appropriate materials
that teach the Regents curriculum at the reading levels of my students but our librarian is amazing at finding just
the right things to reach their individual needs. Even when I get discouraged trying to match their needs to
curriculum appropriate learning experiences, our librarian comes to the rescue with her creative ideas and tireless
searching. I have a Renaissance Project at several different modification levels all due to the knowledge and
unending diligence of our library. When I stated that no student should leave my course without seeing the
magnificence of Renaissance art and architecture, she went into action to procure a variety of books and website
links that even my lowest skilled readers could handle.

Our library is remarkable entirely because of our head librarian, Kathleen Jaccarino, and library staff, Jane Agte
and Pauline Pratt. These women are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, creative and accommodating. They take on so
much more than their job descriptions entail, cultivating relationships with faculty and students alike, working on
our school culture and the attitudes students have toward reading. They are invaluable resources to all of us and
take steps to ensure that our library is more than a book warehouse or computer lab, it is a place to learn and be
and grow. We are so lucky to have them!

Mrs. Jaccarino is the hardest working librarian that I’ve encountered in my seven years of teaching between
Franklin, Spencerport, and various Brockport Schools. Not only is her staff accommodating, and knowledgeable,
they even teach research methods, practices and technological literacy that coincides with these practices. It
would be difficult to leave our district or school and receive similar services.

The library at Brockport High School is an island of peace in the chaotic hubbub and bustle of high school
hallways. I cut through whenever I can, just to breathe in the air of order, productivity and BOOKS. Don't for a
second think however, that peace equals lack of activity, sleepiness or disengagement. On the contrary! The
library always busy, a place to which students and teachers alike flock. Before school, after school, the library
provides a safe place for countless students to gather, discuss, debate, work, research and get help -- both
academic and social. Our librarian (and her wonderful aids) are the bartenders of the high school scene -- listening,
absorbing, guiding and giving just the right advice to point students on the path to success. During the day, classes
flock to the library to dig deeper, learning how to research and write, among other skills necessary for 21st century
life. Teachers, if you want your students to do a project in the library (and you want your students to do a project
in the library -- our librarian is a wizard when it comes to brainstorming resources and coming up with interesting,
technologically advanced projects -- work with her, and you will look like the teacher you always wished you were)
make sure you reserve time well in advance! The library fills up quickly (could we clone it?)! I could go on and
on...but the point is, our library is not an added perk, a condiment that spices up a mediocre meal, or a bit of lace to
add beauty to our days. Our library is the heart and soul of our school, leading the way by helping teachers and
students adapt to the rigor of the common core and the changes in education brought about by our technological
society, while at the same time providing a safe and comfortable place to work and dream. So, choose our
library! Plus, for all the work they do, Kathy Jaccarino, Jane Agte and Pauline Pratt deserve a night out -- and a
glass of wine -- at Casa Larga!

Out library is staffed with highly qualified personnel who truly care for their students. They love to read and learn,
and they express that all around them. They will go above and beyond for a student. They create excitement in
reading that is contagious!
The staff in this library is very knowledgeable of the Common Core and has worked with me (History Teacher) to
incorporate the many elements of those requirements into my instruction.
The books are new and hip! Our librarian Mrs. Jaccarino teaches all students tons of info about research and
proper format (MLA style...students hate it, but they learn it, then they love it later!)
We have the most amazing librarian. She is awesome. I love bringing my classes to the library and going for my
own personal reasons. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming.
