POLYSEM
over 50 years of history
In 1957, Maurice BERNAGE, professor at the Rambouillet
Artificial Insemination School, invented the first mitts
intended to protect the inseminator.
The success won by this innovation among
professionals encouraged him to develop its
manufacture. He founded the POLYSEM Company
with the goal of producing and innovating single-use
protection for veterinarians, inseminators and, as a
spin-off, every professional in the agro-industry line.
Over the years, this production has filled out with
a very wide range of gloves, clothing and accessories
making POLYSEM a world-renowned specialist
in veterinary protection.
Based in Rambouillet, a short distance southwest
of Paris, the company is equipped with the latest
machinery, a mirror image of its dynamism, to produce
disposable products that are exported on all continents.

Through its constant endeavor to obtain the highest quality,
POLYSEM has developed a range of protection items
for veterinarians totally suited to today’s requirements in
terms of safety and protection. These products use polymers

About veterinary
gloves European
standards
VETERINARY GLOVES
The long-sleeved polyethylene gloves used
by veterinarians and breeding technicians, are
considered personal protection equipment or PPE
according to today’s European legislation. They are
designed to protect users against soiling but also
against risks of bacteriological contamination.
The veterinary gloves produced by POLYSEM
comply with the current European standards.
Conformity is assessed by the CE mark on our
packaging and the printing of the “microorganism
hazards” pictogram (corresponding to the European
standard EN 374-2 for penetration resistance tests).
In accordance with the European directive concerning
PPE, finished products and production tools are
tested and verified by independent or notified
bodies.
POLYSEM passed these tests to obtain a “CE typeapproval examination certificate”, proof of our
compliance with European standards. These gloves
offer a guarantee to users, total traceability and
confirm that stringent production testing has been
carried out.
OTHER GLOVES AND SINGLE-USE
MEDICAL DEVICES
With a constant concern to offer users a suitable

the conformity of its examination gloves with
the most stringent standards in the medical field
included in the European directive concerning
“medical devices”: harmonized European standards
93/42/CEE modified by the 2007/47/CEE as well as
medical disposable gloves according to the EN455
standard, series 1 to 4.
BIODEGRADABLE/COMPOSTABLE
GLOVES
Our new GreenGlove™ is certified by “OK Compost”
and “Din Certco” according to European Standard
EN13432, by B.P.I according to ASTM D6400 for North
America and AS4736 for Australian Standards.
Accordingly, on each package, a batch number
enables us to rapidly trace back manufacturing
process materials or input.
