HOLSTEIN ONTARIO RULES FOR GATOR™ HPX CONTEST
1. No purchase is required. Contest is open to members of Holstein Ontario at the time the contest
begins and who are resident in Ontario and have reached the age of majority. The contest is not
open to any employees (current and retired), representatives and agents of John Deere Canada
ULC (the “Sponsor”) and its affiliates, and their authorized John Deere dealers and advertising
agencies, and their immediate families and all persons with whom any of the foregoing are
domiciled.
2. The Contest begins on May 1, 2014, 9:00 AM EST and ends on August, 31, 2014, at 5:00 PM EST
(the “Contest Period”).
3. To enter the draw, participants must complete the entry form provided at a participating
Holstein Club Twilight Meeting (the “Event”), with their name, complete address, including
postal code, phone number, including area code, e-mail address and correct answer to the
mathematical skill testing question and drop it in the ballot box at the Event before conclusion
of the Event. Facsimiles of entry forms will not be accepted. Limit of one entry per person. Event
locations and dates can be found on the “Event Listing” page of Holstein Ontario’s website
Ontario.Holstein.ca or from participating Holstein Clubs or participating John Deere dealers and
are subject to change without notice. Contest Rules will be available at the Event, at
participating John Deere dealers or from participating Holstein Clubs or at JohnDeere.ca.
4. ALTERNATIVE MEANS OF ENTRY: To enter via the alternative entry method during the Contest
Period, send a postcard with your name, complete address, including postal code, phone
number, including area code, e-mail address and correct answer to the mathematical skill
testing question, to the address of the Sponsor set forth below and such entry must be received
by no later than August, 31, 2014, at 5:00 PM EST. Limit of one entry per person.
5. There will be one (1) winner. The winner will receive one (1) Grand Prize of a John Deere Gator™
HPX Utility Vehicle. The approximate total retail value of the prize is $10,000.00. The chances of
winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. The prize will be awarded to
the first person whose entry is selected at random from among all eligible entries and who has
correctly answered the mathematical skill testing question and otherwise complies with the
Contest Rules. Conditions applicable to the prize are:
a. Colour and equipment may differ from the illustration of the vehicle appearing in the
contest advertisement;
b. Colour of vehicle offered is at the sole discretion of Sponsor and is subject to availability;

c. The prize includes inspection, pre-delivery fees and taxes. Any fees or charges other
than those enumerated above are the responsibility of the winner, including, without
limitation, registration of the vehicle, license, gasoline, insurance, fees related to any
infraction, maintenance fees and options the winner wishes to add to his/her prize;
d. Winner must arrange the order for the vehicle with the selected John Deere dealer
within 30 days from the date he/she is declared winner;
e. Winner must take possession of the prize at his/her own expense at the John Deere
dealer designated by Sponsor, no later than 30 days following the notice from the
Sponsor that the vehicle is available at the selected John Deere dealer, otherwise it will
be null and void;
f. Four to six weeks should be allowed for the vehicle delivery at the selected John Deere
dealer from the date the winner made arrangements with the selected John Deere
dealer.
A random drawing from all eligible entries will be held in Grimsby, Ontario at the John Deere
Canada ULC head office on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. The selected entrant will be
contacted by the Sponsor no later than October 3, 2014 by telephone or email at the telephone
number or e-mail address indicated on his/her entry.
The prize must be accepted as awarded, cannot be substituted, and is not redeemable for cash
or otherwise. The prize is non-transferable. In the event a prize is not available, Sponsor may
substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value or, at its sole discretion, the prize cash
value.
The Sponsor of this Contest is John Deere Canada ULC, 295 Hunter Road, P. O. Box 1000,
Grimsby, Ontario, L3M 4H5. All decisions of the Sponsor will be final and binding on all entrants.
To obtain the prize, the selected entrant will be required to sign a standard declaration and
release form, confirming compliance with the Contest Rules and releases and holds harmless the
Sponsor, its affiliates and authorized dealers, their employees, agents and representatives and
their respective advertising and promotional agencies, from all liability, including, but not
limited to, any liability for damage these said persons may incur as a result of their entry or their
attempt to enter the Contest. If a document is not signed and returned within the time
specified, a selected entrant for the prize cannot be contacted or has not responded within one
week of initial attempted contact, or a selected entrant does not comply with the Contest Rules,
the selected entrant is disqualified and will not receive the prize, and another entrant may be
selected in accordance with the Contest Rules. If no winner of the draw prize is declared within
60 days following the draw, the Sponsor may decide to not award the prize.
By accepting a prize, the winner agrees that the Sponsor may use his/her name, city of
residence, statements, likeness and/or photograph, without compensation, in any future
advertising or publicity.
Persons who enter or try to enter this Contest release the Sponsor, any company, corporation,
trust or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated to the Sponsor, its advertising and
promotional agencies, their employees, agents and representatives from any liability for
damage these said persons may incur as a result of their entry or their attempt to enter the
Contest.
This Contest is subject to all relevant laws.
The Sponsor reserves the right, for any reason, to amend the Contest Rules, suspend or
terminate all or any portion of this Contest at any time without prior notice.
All entry forms become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. No
communication or correspondence related to this Contest shall be exchanged with entrants
except as provided for in these Contest Rules or at the Sponsors’ initiative.
15. All personal information collected from entering this Contest shall be subject to the John Deere
privacy policy. Such personal information shall be used for the purposes of administering the

16. Entry forms and the standard declaration and release form of the winner are subject to
verification by the Sponsor. Any entry or standard declaration and release form, as the case may
be, that is incomplete, fraudulent, late, or otherwise fails to meet any requirement mentioned
in these Contest Rules, will be rejected and will be ineligible, as the case may be, for entry or a
prize. Decisions by the Sponsor in this respect are final and binding.
17. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify a participant or entry of any person who enters or
attempts to enter contest in a way contrary to these Contest Rules or unfair to other entrants
(e.g. entries beyond the allowed limit, fraudulent use of an entry form, etc.). Decisions by
Sponsor in this respect are final and binding.
18. If a section of the Contest Rules is declared or deemed illegal, unenforceable or invalid by a
competent court, that section shall be considered invalid, but all unaffected sections will be
applied within the limits of the law.
19. For the purposes of these Contest Rules, the entrant is the person whose name appears on the
Entry Form and it is to this person to whom the prize will be awarded if he/she is selected and
declared a winner.
