Challenges As a next door neighbor of the new World Trade Center, security is a primary concern. ITG needed a security system that would be able to track their employees in case of an emergency and the need for evacuation, as well as identify who is coming and going. Why ISS IT and security executives at ITG conducted research to find the ideal video surveillance and analytics platform to meet their personnel management, life-safety, and mass evacuation needs. This led them eventually to Intelligent Security Systems (ISS). They concluded that the ISS SecurOS Face Recognition module was both highly intelligent, accurate, and suited to their needs. They were also impressed with the true open architecture of the solution as there would be other deployed life-safety systems that would need to be able to communicate in real-time. In addition, the all-in-one approach of ISS gave them the Video Management System (VMS) platform, Facial Recognition system and third party integration capabilities all from the same vendor. The Solution The deployment consists of the following ISS solutions: SecurOS Enterprise, SecureOS Face Module (500 person database), and SecurOS IIDK for seamless integration with third party systems. ISS solutions integrate with AMAG Access Control, ArcSight system from Vigilant (an event management system) and the iPad app from Konrad Group, which will be used by emergency team members in the event of an evacuation. The solution consists of 86 Axis cameras installed (models Q1755 and P3346), of which 26 are being used for Facial Recognition. The results have been exactly what we hoped for.
