Mahavir Foundation and Navnat Vanik Association are jointly organising a ceremony to honour a Diksharthi (Lady who is to become a nun) at Navnat Centre on Saturday, 15 November for Nishaben Kapashi. At our request, Nishaben is specially coming to London for one day. Nishaben was born in the United States and, at the age of 29, will become a Jain nun in Sametshikhar, India. She learnt about Jainism in India and in USA. Before coming to this big decision, Nishaben studied in Mumbai, Florence & New York and worked as a high profile fashion Designer. Timings: 12.30 - 2.30pm - Lunch. (Kitchen will close at 2.30pm). 2.30 - 3.00pm - Diksharthi arrives at the Centre and welcoming procession outside the Main Hall. (weather permitting). 3.00 - 3.40pm - Seating down and a short programme of quiz or Devotional music items. 3.40 - 3.50pm - Diksharthi and family take seats on the stage. Navkar Mantra by Navnat Weekend class children, Diksha song by Mahavir Foundation ladies. 3.50 - 3.55pm - Welcome by Navnat and MF Presidents (Dhiru Galani & Dr Vinodbhai Kapashi). 3.55 - 4.55pm - Discourse and Q & A by Diksharthi Nishaben. 4.55 - 5.20pm - Honouring Nishaben: Sanghpati £2,001 (donors), Max six shawl donors, Patra (special bowls) and holy books (£501 for each item).
