Lakes and Streams:

All Stocked Base Lakes are open year round for fishing of Rainbow Trout
o Stocked lakes with Rainbow Trout include: Clunie, Fish, Green, Gwen, Hillberg, Spring,
Triangle, Upper Sixmile, and Waldon
Clunie, Hillberg, and Green Lakes are open to fishing for stocked land-locked salmon
Lower Sixmile Lake and Thompson are NOT stocked lakes (see bag limits below)
o Otter Lake may not be stocked due to invasive pike
Ship Creek upstream is open year round for Rainbow and Arctic Char/Dolly Varden in two areas
only
o 1) Upstream of Vandenburg Dr to 300 yards downstream of the Ft. Richardson Fish
Hatchery Spillway
o 2) Upstream of the Moose Run Golf Course to 500 yards downstream of the Ship Creek
High Dam
Eagle River upstream from Route Bravo Bridge (See ADF&G Regs Page 38)
Knik Arm at the Mouth of Sixmile Creek

Fish only downstream of the cable crossing the creek near the brush line
NO fishing upstream of signs and cable at any time
NO snagging allowed (See ADF&G Bag Limits Cook Inlet Saltwaters Page 19)

NO fishing in Sixmile Lake within 300 feet of fish ladder at outlet
NO ice fishing from runway/taxi/slip areas around Sixmile small plane base
NO fishing within 300 feet of the Talley Road culvert (fish ladder) between Upper and Lower
Sixmile Lakes during 11 July – 30 September
NO fishing within 300 feet of the Eagle River fish wheel or DIDSON
Bag/Possession Limits:
•
Rainbow Trout (Stocked waters) 5 per day/5 in possession only 1 fish 20” or longer

Rainbow Trout (Unstocked waters: Lower Sixmile, Ship Creek, and Eagle River) 2 per day 2 in
possession and only 1 fish 20” or longer
Arctic Char/Dolly Varden (Stocked waters) 5 per day/5 in possession no size limit
Arctic Char/Dolly Varden (Unstocked waters: Lower Sixmile, Ship Creek, and Eagle River) 2 per
day 2 in possession and only 1 fish 12” or longer
Land-locked salmon (Stocked lakes: Clunie, Green, and Hillberg) 10 per day/ 10 in possession
Northern Pike NO LIMIT. Pike shall NOT be released into JBER waters. Pike NOT kept must be
turned into biologist at JBER Wildlife Eructation Center (8481 19th Street)

Licenses and Permits
•
State License required for ages 16 to 59. No license required under age 16 (harvest card is
required. Fishing for any sea-run King salmon requires a King Stamp. JBER requires an
isportsman pass to recreate on the installation; visit (http://www.jber.isportsman.net/) for
details. Also, JBER Security Forces requires additional access documents available at either the
Fort Richardson or Boniface Gate visitor Centers.
