“This course will be of interest to Radiologists, Radiology Residents & Fellows.”
Course Objectives:
At the end of this event, participants should be able to:
• Evaluate the objectives and purposes of the CAR and ACR peer review
guidelines
• Discuss Medico-legal issues concerning peer review and diagnostic imaging
• Review and discuss the mandate and initiatives relating to quality management
and peer review being proposed by government and key regulatory agencies
• Apply lessons learned from other jurisdictions to Ontario practices
• Integrate the Quality of Care Information Protection Act, 2004 to support
peer review
• Compare peer review experiences in the hospital and IHF setting
• Discuss the need for peer review and the lessons learned from recent
experiences
• Identify the issues raised by quality audits
• Implement peer review in a hospital or community imaging clinic setting
• Discuss where peer review is headed.

Keynote Speaker:
David B. Larson, MD, MBA
Associate Chair, Performance Improvement, Department of Radiology,
Stanford University, California
David B. Larson, MD, MBA is the Associate Chair for Performance Improvement in the Department of Radiology at Stanford
University. He is an expert in radiology quality improvement and patient safety, and a regular speaker regarding topics
ranging from pediatric CT radiation dose optimization to radiologist peer review.
Dr. Larson recently moved from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he was the Janet L. Strife Chair for Quality and
Safety in Radiology and a faculty member of the James M. Anderson Center for Health Systems Excellence. He holds MD
and MBA degrees from Yale University and completed his training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in
Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Larson is a pediatric radiologist at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford and lives with his wife, Tara, and four
children in Los Altos, California.

Access to archived versions of the CME program will be made available to all CME participants.
Two archived formats will be available. Participants can choose to access the entire event,
or access the program on a-lecture-by lecture basis.

CANCELLATION POLICY
For OAR members, if cancellation to this event is necessary please, contact the OAR office for assistance. For non-members, a refund will be made less
a $50 processing fee, if cancellation is received in writing two weeks prior of the CME event date.No refunds will be given within two weeks of the
CME event. Delegates may substitute an alternate attendee. Please advise the OAR if any changes are made. The OAR reserves the right to cancel or move the conference should it become necessary. In this case, each registrant will be notified by telephone or email and a full refund will
be given. Therefore it is important that you provide us with an email address and phone number. The OAR is not responsible for any other costs incurred.
