ANDREW PAPPAS
Andrew Pappas earned a bachelor of arts
degree from the University of Colorado
Boulder in Economics with an emphasis on
International Economics, and a degree in
International Affairs with a regional focus
on Europe. Andrew was accepted in CU’s
internship program this past fall in
Washington D.C where he interned for
Senator Michael Bennet in the United
States Capitol. Andrew was recently hired
by the Colorado Democratic Party working
on the 2014 election cycle. He aspires to
return to school to further his education in
the near future. Andrew is the son of
Scott and Olympia Pappas.
NICHOLAS DEAN PHILLIPS
Nicholas Dean Phillips, son of Dean and
Nikki Phillips was born and raised in the
Assumption Cathedral community. Nick is a
graduate of Mullen High School and will
attend the University of Denver in the Fall.
Nick has been in GOYA, Sunday School,
Hellenic Dance Academy and participated in
the Metropolis of Denver Basketball
Tournament.
Nick is a four year letterman in Varsity
Lacrosse and was captain of the team this
year. Nick received 2nd team academic
honors for the past two years and was
named 1st team All Conference and 1st team
All State for Lacrosse and was recently
awarded the distinction of 2014 United
States Lacrosse Association All American.
Nick will be pursuing a degree in Business.

Yianna is the daughter of Dr. Gregory and
Stellee Papadeas. Her siblings are Venetia, Nicolia,
and George. She graduated from Regis Jesuit High
School with honors. Yianna has been raised in the
sacramental life of the Church. She has been active
in JR and SR GOYA, Greek School, Sunday School,
Hellenic Dance Academy, Idomeneas Cretan Dance
Group, Camp Emmanuel, Ionian Village and GOYA
basketball. She has been the team MVP many
years and this year was a starter for the Metropolis
Championship team. She participated in the
Oratorical Festival and was the 1st place winner
several years for our parish.
Yianna is excited to be a part of the Crossroad
Program this summer in Boston sponsored by the
Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. She will also
participate as a counselor at the Chicago Metropolis
youth camp, Fanari and Saint Sophia Camp in
southern California. She is very appreciative and
grateful for her upbringing in our parish!
Yianna plans to attend Loyola University in
Chicago this fall.

Sofia Pappas, daughter of Scott and Olympia
Pappas graduated from Dakota Ridge High
School in Littleton on May 23, 2014. She will
be attending Colorado State University this fall
majoring in Apparel and Merchandising with a
focus in Fashion and Marketing.
DEMETRIA NICOLE MAURIES
Demetria (Demi) Mauries,twin of Chloe
Mauries, is the daughter of George and
Michelle Mauries, and granddaughter of
Tom and Mary Mauries, graduated from
Eaglecrest High School on May 22, 2014.
Demi played volleyball at Eaglecrest High
School for four years, in which she
lettered. She enjoys volunteering at our
Greek Festival. Demi will be pursuing a
degree in cosmetology and hopes to
open her own salon.

To all of our graduates, we are so very proud of you. The Assumption
Cathedral has been here for you since you were born. We pray that you will
include it in all the stages of your lives. As our Father who loves us, God
wants us to be the best we can be. Pursue excellence in your lives, and as
you gain new experiences, be your best and enjoy them as a great
adventure.
This transition, furthering your education, is a critical juncture in your life.
We will always pray for you and watch over you. We also want you to take
close to heart, the teachings of the church and continue to grow in your
faith, prayer to God, and keeping the sacraments as an important part of
your life.
CHLOE MICHELLE MAURIES
Chloe Mauries, twin of Demetria
Mauries, is the daughter of George and
Michelle Mauries, and granddaughter of
Tom and Mary Mauries. She graduated
from Eaglecrest High School on May 22,
2014. Chloe played volleyball at
Eaglecrest High School for four years in
which she lettered. She loves
volunteering at our Greek Festival.
Chloe will be attending Adams State
College in the Fall where she will be
pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in
Nursing.
You are our future, and we rejoice in the path that you are setting for

Kennebeck Albrechta will
complete their studies at the
University of Toledo, College
of Law in August 2014. David
and Eleni attended
commencement activities in
May 2014 where each
graduated with honors. Eleni
and David are the daughter
and son-in-law of Phyllis and
Paul Kennebeck and
granddaughter of Theano
Peros. They are looking
forward to the free time they
will enjoy once school is
finished and look forward to
what the future holds for
them.
ARIANA CHRISTINE ANDERSON
Ariana Christine Anderson is graduating this
spring from D’Evelyn High School, where she is
an Honor Student. Ariana loves theater and
singing. She was a member of the Concert Choir
throughout High School. Ariana participated in
numerous musical and theater productions. She
was Mrs. Peacock in the production of “Clue” and
Ms. Dorothy in the musical “Thoroughly Modern
Millie”. Ariana was also a Varsity Cheerleader.
This fall she will be attending the University of
Colorado at Boulder.
CADET ALEXANDER KENDL
Cadet Alexander Kendl, graduated from the
United States Military Academy at West Point
on May 28, 2014. While at West Point, he
majored in Nuclear Engineering with a Pre‐
Med minor. He was commissioned as a
second lieutenant in the U.S. Army with the
Signal Corps and will report to Ft. Gordon in
Augusta, GA for his first assignment. He is
the son of Kenneth and Athanasia Kendl,
brother of Robert and Julia Kendl, and
grandson of Andreas and Aspasia Geranios
from Great Falls, Montana, and John and
Phyllis Kendl from Joliet, Illinois,
CHRISTOS NICHOLAS KYRIAZI
Chris is the son of Aspasia P. and Dr. Nicholas C.
Kyriazi and the grandson of Fotini and Christos N.
Kyriazi (Virginia) and Joan and George H.
Papadeas (Denver). His siblings are Ioanna,
George, Photi, Maria, and Michael. He graduated
with a Bachelor of Science from the University of
Denver with a major in Finance and a minor in
Accounting, and consistently made the Dean’s
List. After a successful internship at Headwaters
MB as an investment banking analyst, he has
decided to continue his education at Villanova
University in Philadelphia, in pursuit of a Master
of Science in Finance degree. While at DU, Chris
was a member of the finance committee of Beta
Alpha Psi, a business fraternity, an undergraduate mentor in the Investment Banking and
Capital Markets Club, and started for DU’s Club
Rugby team.
NIKO DERR
I come from a wonderful family made up
of my parents, Chris and Dina Derr, and
my older sister, Caterina. I was born in
the city of Patra while my father was
serving in the Air Force and stationed at
Araxos, Air Station, Greece. In August of
1997, we moved to Colorado Springs and
eventually moved to Denver in 2004. My
sister and I became incredibly involved
with the Idomeneas Cretan youth/dance
group, of which I am currently the
president. I just graduated from Vista
Peak High School, and in the Fall, I am
heading up to Colorado State University in
Ft. Collins to study Mechanical
Engineering. Thanks to all who have
supported me throughout the years and
the continuous blessings provided in my
life!
KARISSA GARCIA
Karissa Garcia is the daughter of Gilbert
and Tina Garcia and the granddaughter of
John and Tula Poggas. Karissa graduated
from Metropolitan State University of Denver
on May 18, 2014, with a Bachelor’s Degree in
Criminal Justice with a minor in Chicano
Studies.
Karissa was very active while she attended
the University. She was the President of
Journey Through our Heritage while working
for the Chicano Studies Department, she was
in the Criminal Justice Honor Society, Urban
Leadership Program, Runners Program, Delta
Gamma Xi, Triota Women’s Honor Society
and MeCha. She is a recipient of the Cesar
Chavez Peace and Justice Award, the Junior
Leadership Award, and the Espiritu de Aztlan
Award.
Karissa plans on attending the University of
Colorado at Denver to get her Masters’
Degree in Criminal Justice with a
concentration in Domestic/Gender Violence.
She is currently working for the Lakewood
Municipal Courts.
ERIKA ASPASIA ANDERSON
Erika Aspasia Anderson graduated this spring
from the University of Colorado at Boulder
with a Master of Science in Integrative
Physiology with Honors. During her college
career Erika was a member of Gamma Beta
Phi Sorority where she held a number of
executive offices. She participated in
internships at Denver Health Hospital and the
Spinal Research Institute. Erika enjoys
teaching and was a graduate teaching
assistant for the anatomy cadaver lab. She is
currently working for 70 Imaging developing
an integrated iPad/ultrasound diagnostic tool
for physicians. Erika plans on continuing her
career in medicine by attending medical
school.
EVAN GEORGE ANDRETSOS
Evan George Andretsos, son of
Maria and George Andretsos,
graduated from Highlands Ranch High
School on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.
Evan is dedicated to his faith and
heritage. He served in altar for 11
years, was active in Sunday School, JR
and SR GOYA, played basketball, and
danced in both the HDA and Cretan
groups. In addition to his church
activities and academics, Evan was a
four year varsity track athlete, and
plays guitar. He is currently Secretary
of Idomeneas Cretan Youth of Denver.
Evan wants to continue his service
to the Assumption Cathedral
community by teaching Sunday School,
Cretan dance and coaching basketball,
while he attends Metropolitan State
University in the Fall, where he will
pursue a degree in Meteorology.
CONSTANTINE JOHN BRASWELL
Constantine is the son of John and Elaine
Calliope (Xenos) Braswell, Constantine is the
brother of Helen and brother-in-law of Alex GKakouris, and Godson of Father George and
Presbytera Elaine Manneh of St. George
Orthodox Church in California
Constantine graduated from Peak to Peak
High School with many recognitions and
accomplishments: being on the Dean's list;
acquiring ten varsity letters in three sports golf, basketball, and baseball and receiving
Athlete of the Year Award; playing trombone
in Jazz band; and donating 200+ community
service hours working with youth.
He has chosen to attend the University of
Denver and has accepted entrance into the
Daniels School of Business. He accepted an
internship with JDW Cotillion for the summer
and freshman year of college.
Congratulations to all our Christian Orthodox

RACHEL AWEIDA
Rachel Aweida was born and raised in Boulder,
Colorado. She is the daughter of Dan and Tina
Aweida, sister of Trevor Aweida and granddaughter
of Chuck and Dianne Sweeney. She is graduating
from Fairview High School this May 2014. Outside
of her school activities, Rachel has been a dedicated
and hardworking volunteer at the Boulder Humane
Society and involved with the Boulder YMCA
swimming program. She will be working towards a
degree in business while attending the University of
South Carolina in the fall where she received a four
year scholarship.
ALEKZANDER JAMES BOLLIG
Alekzander James Bollig graduated from Columbine
High School on Saturday May 24th, with High Academic
Honors. Alek has been active on his school swim team,
swimming all four years, and this year served as cocaptain. He has been the schools IT support for 4 years
as well, and has represented his school in DECA
competitions and student business leadership. While at
Columbine Alek has maintained a 4.0+ GPA and was
awarded two academic letters and a scholar pin. The
road has not been easy for Alek as he had 4 surgeries
just while he was in high school ( 9) total, but he works
hard, has a great attitude, doesn't grumble or complain.
Alek was chosen as the Dave Sanders Memorial
Scholarship recipient for 2014, and will be attending
Florida Institute of Technology in the fall, to study
Computer Science/ Engineering. To say he has made
us proud is an understatement. God has done an
amazing work in Alek's life and we are humbled and
thankful to have been witness to it. The author and
finisher of our story, our Lord, completed this chapter in
Alek's book. We look forward to what the next chapters
hold. We love you Alek and could not be prouder of the
young man that you are. You are a blessing to all who

VASILIKI D. DADIOTIS
Vasiliki D. Dadiotis, daughter of Jim &
Kiki Dadiotis, graduated from Cherry Creek
High School last Wednesday, May 21st with
honors.
While in high school Vashia debated for
the Cherry Creek Speech & Debate and
achieved several awards. During her Senior
year she was a Science student teacher at
Belleview Elementary for 1st and 3rd graders.
She was also a member of the Women’s
Basketball team her Freshman and
Sophomore year of high school and the
Women’s Basketball Varsity team her Junior
and Senior years.
She was an active GOYA member,
danced in the Cathedral’s Hellenic Dance
Academy for seven years, and has
graduated Greek School with High Honors.
In August Vashia will be attending the
University of Colorado, Boulder, where she
will study for her Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Political Science-Pre Law and Sports
Management. She will be working for the
Department of Athletics.
