Jim Klauber is a South Carolina native. Dr. Klauber earned his undergraduate degree from The Citadel, a
Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the
University of South Carolina. He retired from the SC Army National Guard with the rank of Lieutenant
Colonel after 27 years of service, 15 as a member of the Judge Advocate Generals Corps, including a 10month tour of duty in Kosovo. A former law clerk to Governor Carroll Campbell, and five term member
SC General Assembly, he went to work for Piedmont Technical College in 2003 in Advancement and rose
to be its Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Dr. Klauber came to Kentucky in 2010 as President
of Owensboro Community & Technical College. He is married to the former Teresa Wyatt and has three
children. He is a licensed private pilot and scuba diver.
