Thank you to our students who donated some or all of their Halloween candy for our
military troops. We also appreciate all the toothbrushes donated by our dentists or families
with connections to dentists. It was a successful Trick or Treating reversal to do acts of
kindness as well as promoting dental health.

showcased at the District Office, put on the
District’s website, and displayed at all
school sites.

Coding Lessons at JFS

So excited for our coding that will take place the first two weeks in
December. If you are still interested in joining to help please go to
our JFS website and click on *Coding for important information
including dates and times.
The lessons we will be teaching are as follows:
Students 4th grade – 8th grade are
encouraged to participate. Drawings
should be on 8.5 X 11 size paper so it can
be easily scanned. Pleased select 2-3
entries per site for final decision. Your
entries must be submitted to JFS by
November 19th. The winner will be
announced on November 21st.

PTA Corner 2nd Annual Candy Drive 4 Troops Update THANK YOU to all the JFS children who brought in candy in exchange for toothbrushes. We collected 502 lbs. of candy to send to the troops overseas. Opera9on Care & Comfort and Blue Star Moms are the organizaHons we have partnered with this year. We also want to give BIG smiles to our wonderful denHsts who donated toothbrushes as well as kits for the kids. Super Kudos goes out to Vanessa R, Sterling L, Courtney K, Usha K, Sumedha P, Helen, Susan T, Neeta K, for collecHng and sorHng the candy as well as handing out toothbrushes. A big shout-­‐

UTM Teacher Ticket & Basket Dona9ons Extended, Due Date Fri, Nov 14th. The due date for donaHons to purchase teacher/staff Hckets and classroom silent aucHon gia baskets has been extended to Friday Nov. 14th. Please consider donaHng towards purchasing a Hcket for your teacher and for classroom baskets. Teachers will be informed of your generous donaHons. We are asking for $20 (or more if you'd like). The funds raised from the aucHon will go directly towards the building of a future outdoor amphitheater and other needs, by the request of Mrs. McClintock and the staff. Upcoming events Beau9fica9on: Beau1fica1on will be held this Saturday, Nov 8th at 8AM. Due to the drought, we will NOT be planHng flowers and bulbs but clean up around the school. We will clean up the perimeter of the school by pulling weeds, sweeping and picking up li[er. Bring your gloves and brooms. Bagels and coffee will be waiHng for those who show up! Astronomy Week: JFS PTA brings Astronomy Week from Monday, Nov 17th to Friday, Nov 21st! Fun astronomy facts and jokes presented by JFS Student council and informaHve videos to watch in class. Astronomy Night & Star Party is on Tuesday November 18th, 7 pm to 9 30 pm Astronomy staHons and mobile planetarium brought to you by Chabot Space Center (MPR).
