Annual Budget Meeting
A reminder this will take place tomorrow evening, Thursday, 13
November 2014 at 18h30 in the school hall.

Staffing
Mrs Foxon is away on maternity leave and she is replaced by
Mrs le Roux until the end of this year.

Learner Achievement
Congratulations to the following learners who made the U13
softball teams: U13A Boys: Samuel Piper and Luke Gibbon,
U13B Boys: Connor Griffiths and Keenan Dandridge, U13A
Girls: Jenna Mills and U13B Girls: Gabriella Gervasoni and
Adrienne Witthuhn.
Congratulations to Kyle Laing who competed in the South
African Sensei Rob Ferriere Open JKA Karate Tournament and
won bronze medals for both Kata and Kumite in his division.
Well done to Warren Moolman who won the U12 Sprogs
25km Bestmed Ballito Race. Warren also competed in the
Engen Cycle Race held at Moses Mabhida Stadium and took
fourth place.
Cultural Evening—Friday, 14 November 2014
This event is open to everyone at no charge. Tea will be served
from 17:30. The show starts at 18:00. WSPS students attending
this evening must be dressed in full school uniform.

Marimba Band
The Marimba Band played at the opening of the new
MANCOSA GSB building in Durban on Friday, 7 November.
Delegates from around South Africa, including Pravin Gordan,
were at this function. It was a fantastic evening!

East Coast Radio Toy Story
WSPS is once again involved with this wonderful collection to
give every child a new toy for Christmas. If you want to be a
part of this adventure this year, please drop the toys in the
box at the school reception.

Christmas Hampers
A big thank you to all who have contributed towards the
food hampers for the service staff. Your kind gesture and
generosity over the years has made this project a great
success and it is greatly appreciated by both the school and
the service staff. If you still want to contribute towards these
hampers, please send your items to school by Friday, 28
November.
9.
Art Exhibition
Children are allowed to attend the Art Exhibition with their parents
on Wednesday, 19 November from 17h00-20h00 in the school
hall. On Thursday, 20 November, all art pieces will be taken to the
Westville Mall and put on display. Money raised from the art will
go towards buying a service dog for the SAPS/ Metro Police. This
dog will be known as the WSPS service dog and have its own Face
Book page. Learners from WSPS will name the dog. Prize-Giving
will be held on Saturday, 22 November at 10h00. Prize winners will
be notified and must wear school uniform.
10.
Media Centre
The Media Centre will be closed after school from Tuesday,
18 November and will re-open in January 2015. Stocktaking
will commence from Wednesday, 19 November. All books
must be returned and fines paid by this date.
