The ergonomic handles, fine jaws and innovative locking mechanism make exact stitching with suture sizes 0/0 to 7/0 sutures considerably easier. Both versions offer the same quality and high level of performance. Straight handle – Ratchet released using index finger Pistol-shaped handle – Pistol-shaped handle – The lock-in positions on the dismantling KOH macro needle holders can be positioned on the left, right, or on top as preferred. 2 © KARL STORZ 96112032 LAP 63 3.0 02/2015/EW On the non-dismantling version of the KOH macro needle holder, the lock-in positions are arranged as such that the ratchet can be released using either the index finger or the thumb. 3 different jaws – straight, curved left, or curved right All versions of the KOH macro needle holders are available with straight, curved left, or curved right jaws. The curved left jaws allow (right-handed surgeons) optimal gripping of the needle and support axial rotation positively during needle guidance. The curved tip also facilitates intracorporeal knot tying. The curved right jaw can also serve as an assistant needle driver with the disengaged ratchet (or as the main needle holder for left-handed surgeons). The needle holders with the straight jaws can be used for all types of suturing by both left-handed and righthanded surgeons. The familiar efficacy and precision of our KOH macro needle holders remain unaffected by disassembly; meanwhile even better cleaning results are now possible. Consequently, the handle, outer sheath and working insert can be individually and optimally cleaned and sterilized. A further advantage of the modular design is the associated environmentally friendly construction. In the case of damage, only the defective component must be replaced so that replacement costs are minimized.
