Australian designer Susan Dimasi has dressed Bollywood actress Vidya
Balan in a special sari, the fabric of which was specially designed by
Susan. The sari was created by hand weaving textile with silk ribbon
through a rubber net.
Actress Vidya Balan has become Bollywood’s quintessential
ambassador of the sari, and when an Australian designer was asked
to create an ensemble for her, she couldn’t think beyond the six-yard
wonder either.
As part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2014, festival
ambassador Vidya did a photoshoot with celebrated Australian designer
Susan Dimasi.
The hand-woven textile was exhibited at the prestigious Melbourne
Now arts exhibition at the iconic National Gallery of Victoria and then
draped on Vidya Balan as a sari, said a statement.
Apart from Dimasi, Akira Isogawa, a prominent contemporary
designer, was given a chance to dress the acclaimed actress.
Isogawa, who has even dressed Cate Blanchett in the past, created
a special dress for Vidya. It was a fusion of his Japanese roots and
Australian chic.
While shooting Anees Bazmee’s Welcome Back, John
Abraham got to drive the $3 million McLaren owned by the
Dubai royal family due to the closeness of the royal family
with the producer Firoz Nadiadwala. This car, which has
only limited pieces in the world, can go upto 340 kms per
hour. John went upto only 304 kms.
Talking to us, he said, “I love super bikes and super cars
and this certainly was a super car, which goes from 0 to
100 kms in just 3 seconds. I live to ride and feel if you are
not living on the edge, you are wasting space. There is an
element of danger that always exists and it’s scary in a way.
There are astrologers, who have met me and warned me, but
I don’t believe in astrology, I believe in science.”

Rajinikanth seems to have gotten
over whatever initial hesitation
he had about romancing his good
friend, Shatrughan Sinha’s 27-yearold daughter Sonakshi Sinha.
We can now confirm that Sona will
indeed be playing the Southern superstar’s
love interest in her Tamil debut. She will
start shooting in July, after she completes
her Bollywood assignment Tevar. The film,
which will extensively be shot in Mysore, is aiming for a Diwali release.
Sonakshi says, “I am finally making my debut in the South. I could not
have asked for a better project to start with; it’s a wonderful story and it’s
opposite the one and only Rajini sir. I am looking forward to expanding my
horizons with this project.”

Planning For
A Second Child?
At a time when speculations are being made about beauty
queen Aishwarya Rai’s comeback into Bollywood, latest
input suggests that the former Miss World is rather
planning for a second baby.
Aishwarya has been enjoying her motherhood to the
core and thus, has been totally detached from the glamour
world ever since the birth of her daughter Aaradhya.
However, recently there were reports that the blue-eyed
actress has plans to make a comeback into the industry
with one of Mani Ratnam’s next venture.
But according to the latest update, Aishwarya is very
happy with her domestic life and she is even planning
for a second child, thus Ash is not ready for long time
professional commitments.
Ash has been seen in some advertisements or brand
endorsements but she hasn’t signed any film as of now.
Several film makers have approached Aishwarya but the
Bachchan bahu seemed unsure about going in for a long
term commitment.
Aishwarya was quoted saying “Change is constant in
life. Every experience contributes to change and growth,
making you a better human being. Becoming a mother
has been a blessing and I cherish this gift from God.”

Sources close to the actor are saying that
the main reason behind Ranbir moving out of
the family home was girlfriend Katrina Kaif.
Apparently, her frequent visits to the family house
were not going so well with father Rishi Kapoor
and Ranbir finally decided to move out.

Shah Rukh Khan is known for giving out gifts to his friends
and colleagues. Keeping up with the tradition, SRK has gifted
his close friend and director Farah Khan a swanky four wheel
drive by Mercedes.
Farah Khan on Monday posted a picture with the King
Khan and the car on Twitter. She wrote:
Farah Khan is directing SRK in her next film Happy New
Year that also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Deepika
Padukone and Sonu Sood.
Earlier, also he had gifted Farah a Hyundai Terracan
before the release of Main Hoon Na and a Mercedes car before
the release of Om Shanti Om.
It is to be noted that both the films were huge box office

Suniel Shetty is currently caught between two producers who had signed
him to make a film but are now demanding the signing amount to be given
each of them separately. Apparently Suniel Shetty was signed for a film to be produced by
Anita Vimal and Hemendra Singh Solanki, but just a week before the
movie went on floors, the two had a fallout and the film was shelved. Now
the two approached Suniel to pay back the double of the signing amount,
asking him to pay the money separately to the two of them. Frustrated
with the situation Suniel has approached CINTAA (Cine and TV Artiste’s
Association). Suniel angrily stated that he feels like a ping pong ball tossed
between the partners and has now left the decision to CINTAA who will
deal with the issue.
Salman Khan Casts Katrina Kaif’s
Sister Isabelle In Dr. Cabbie
Salman Khan has gone international with his production and is
ready with his film titled Dr. Cabbie.
Well what’s worth noticing is the fact that Salman Khan has
cast Katrina Kaif’s sister, Isabelle in Dr. Cabbie opposite popular
Indian-American actor Kunal Nayyar of the television show The Big
Bang Theory fame.
Dr. Cabbie also stars Vinay Virmani of Speedy Singhs fame
and the American actress Adrianne Palicki. Salman Khan introduces
the trailer of Dr. Cabbie and says, “Hi, this is Salman Khan. This is
the first look of my international production Dr. Cabbie. Enjoy the
ride!”
The premise of Dr. Cabbie is very simple. The
trailer shows the protagonist Deepak achieving his
vision of becoming a renowned doctor and living the
Canadian dream with his family. The trailer takes the
viewer on a roller coaster ride of laughter, chaos, tears
and fun as Deepak ends up as an unemployed Indian
doctor driving a cab in Canada.
As the film progress, this unemployed doctor turned
cab driver becomes a local hero when he converts his
taxi into a mobile clinic. Dr. Cabbie is the heart-warming
journey of a young Indian Doctor who immigrates to
Canada with the selfless ambition of healing others
while beginning a new life in the land of opportunity.
Dr. Cabbie is directed by Jean-Francois Poulliot and stars
Vinay Virmani, Lilette Dubey, Adrianne Palicki, Kunal Nayyar,
Mircea Monroe, Rizwan Manji, Chris Diamantopoulos and of
course, Isabelle.
Dr. Cabbie is being produced by First Take Entertainment and
Caramel Films and will be distributed in the Indian Sub-Continent
by Eros International.
Salman Kahn is aiming for an International release in the
month of September 2014. Here’s wishing Salman Khan and the
entire team of Dr. Cabbie all the best and we do hope that the film

When Amir Khan does a launch
of a trailer, you know the film
is good. Especially when the
debutant, is the son of a star being
launched, the film is a mustwatch.
Heropanti is an actionromance which stars Jackie
Shroff’s son, Tiger, in the lead
role. Kriti Sanon, the Tollywood
actress is the leading lady. The film
is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala,
and is directed by Sabbir Khan,
who made Kambakkht Ishq in
2009.
Heropanti is a coming of age
love story, with a generous dose of
romance and action. Bablu (Tiger
Shroff) and Dimpy (Kirti Sanon)
fall in love in a small town that
is terrorized by a dangerous clan.
In such a violent landscape, can
love blossom? Will the two lovers
find the freedom and happiness
they look for? Set against the
backdrop of terror, the couple
want to escape their fate and find
love. But the hurdles they have
to overcome are deadly. Can
love overcome such deep-rooted
hatred?
The desi Romeo-Juliet style
romance flick is also a tale of
real life drama as the hero is none
other than Bollywood’s actionromance star Jackie Shroff’s son.
“I don’t know what feelings I have
now after seeing him (Tiger) on
screen. I am obviously happy to
see him. But there is nervousness
as he has given exams (done the
film) and waiting for the result,”
Jackie told reporters at the trailer
launch of Heropanti.
On the other hand, Tiger says he is
pretty confident and has learnt a lot from
his director, Sabbir Khan. “My grooming
consisted firstly of understanding cinema
as a medium. Sabbir sir would have endless
conversations with me, over months, about
movies and the craft; he made me unlearn
preconceived notions and just focus and

absorb my character. He told me right in
the beginning that he was in no rush, and
that we would start shooting only when I’d
become the character I was to enact.”
Kriti Sanon, who made her acting debut
in Mahesh Babu starrer 1 Nenokkadine
(Tollywood), is also excited about
Heropanti, her first Bollywood film. “I
did get a few offers after 1 Nenokkadine;
however, I haven’t signed anything yet in
Telugu...I am concentrating on my debut in

Bollywood,” she says.
In spite of the newbies,
the producer, Sajid Nadiadwala is
confident about the film. “I trusted
Tiger and Kriti to deliver goods
and I am glad that the results are
there for all to see,” says Sajid
who is currently shooting Kick
with Salman Khan, “Both these
youngsters are a bundle of energy
and my team gave them a song
which was just perfect to mark
their introduction in front of the
audience. I am sure they would
take forward the momentum from
this point on.’
The
soundtrack
of
Heropanti is composed by Sajid
Wajid, with Manj Musik as
guest composer. The first single
track Whistle Baja is composed
by Manj Musik with vocals by
Nindy Kaur and Raftaar. Lyrics
are written by Kausar Munir and
Raftaar. The legendary tune of
Subhash Ghai and Jackie Shroff’s
‘whistle’ has done the trick yet
again (almost three decades
later!) in Whistle Baja. If the
very sound of the whistle wasn’t
addictive enough, newcomer
Tiger and Kriti Sanon have made
sure that their dance moves make
an instant impression as well. The
foot tapping number has become
an instant hit on Indian radio and
at discotheques. The song Raat
Bhar has Tiger and Kriti locking
lips in a night-club setting and has
become popular too.
Two different music
companies have come together
to make the music of Heropanti.
The first song Whistle Baja was
launched by Saregama music
company because they owned the
rights for Jackie Shroff’s whistle
tune from his film Hero. The
remaining songs of the film are
owned by T-series. Sabbir Khan
says, “Yes its unusual and I guess
the first of its kind when two giant music
companies like T. Series and Saregama
have collaborated for one film... We have
got great feedback about the music for
Heropanti and it reaffirms our faith in the
creative content.”

Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala has
managed a coup. He has roped
in Akshay Kumar and Abhishek
Bachchan, after a gap of nearly 12
years, for the next film Housefull 3 in
his super-successful franchise.
The film will be writer duo SajidFarhad’s second directorial venture.
Their debut, It’s Entertainment, is
scheduled for an August 2014 release.
A source says, “The Housefull
franchise is a promising one in the
masala entertainment space. Housefull
2 is in the “100-crore club. Sajid plans
to keep it going till the time he is unable
to rope in exciting actor combinations.
Also, as long as he is able to find
entertaining scripts.”
Akshay has been in both the
earlier films of the franchise. But this
time around, the coup lies in Akki’s
combination with Abhishek, with
whom he was last seen in the romantic
drama, Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya
(2002). Incidentally, Abhishek and
Karisma Kapoor, the leading lady of
HMBPK, were dating back then. It will
be truly interesting to see Akshay and
Abhishek in a comedy of errors.

Big B to play paralyzed

Bejoy Nambiar’s next
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has been
in the film industry for nearly five decades,
has portrayed roles from all different genres.
He has challenged his own ability by upping

progeria-struck Auro in Paa to a teacher of a
blind-mute woman in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s
Black, his versatility and convincing ability is

A recent report published by a leading
publication now suggests that Big B will play a
role of paralyzed chess grandmaster in director
Bejoy Nambiar’s upcoming film.
The thriller, which stars Farhan Akhtar
in the lead, will be produced by Vidhu Vinod
Chopra.
The publication also reports that Amitabh’s
character in the film will be confined to a bed as
he is completely paralyzed. He will be playing
teacher to Farhan’s character in the film.

before its release. The rumors are that, the multi-starrer Happy
New Year (which is being directed by Farah Khan) has been
committed a Minimum Guarantee (MG) of a whopping Rs.
125 crores towards the worldwide theatrical release by YRF,
whereas the satellite rights have been purchased by Zee for a
wholesome amount of Rs. 65 crores and the music rights being
sold off to T-Series for Rs. 12 crores.

Sussanne Roshan and Hrithik Roshan may
have split up but she is not severing all ties
with her ex hubby.
Not yet officially divorced but living
separately, the couple hasn’t been seen
together ever since Hrithik made the official
announcement in December 2013 that
Sussanne had decided to split from him.
Sussanne harbors no ill feeling towards
Hrithik Roshan and when asked in an

and conducts secret intelligence operations.

Ever since the launch of the IPL,we have
witnessed celebrities entering the world of
sports very often. While most of the known
B-town folks have invested in cricket teams,
Abhishek Bachchan has taken a different
route. In fact, Abhishek has acquired a prokabaddi team. Confirming the acquisition Abhishek
posted on twitter, “It is with great pride that I
would like to announce that I have bought the
Jaipur Team for the Pro Kabaddi League. Need
your good wishes.” This acquisition comes
after the Pro-Kabaddi League, was announced
last month that will follow the IPL-style avatar. The other kabaddi franchises are owned

inspiration has been his wife, Genelia as she said, “Ritesh had

Actor Imran Khan says one has to
deal with box office flops and that his
way of ensuring profit for the makers
is to keep his remuneration in check.
“I have never worked for money,
and the money that I take all depends
on the film,” he said when asked if he
has slashed his fee while his films are
not doing well.
“I have never been someone who
is motivated by money or will not do
a film if the price is not right. I always
want my price to be low so that the
film can recover. If the film does well,
then you take profit… that’s the basic
thing you can do.”

can’t accept it, then you must get
out.”
“I am sure something must have
gone wrong, but what you have to take
with you is a lesson. I have worked
hard but people have not liked it and

The Xpose is a desi film noir directed by
Anant Mahadevan and produced by Vipin
Reshammiya. Himesh Reshammiya stars in
the lead role. Zoya Afroz and Sonali Raut
form the supporting cast, and Irfan Khan is
seen in a special appearance.
The film also marks the acting debut of
the Punjabi music artist Yo Yo Honey Singh,
who is roped in for the negative role.
The plot of Xpose has all the masala
elements of a film noir done in Bollywood
eshtyle. Set in the 60’s, Xpose, exposes the
razzmatazz of Bollywood in that era. The
trailer tells us that the movie is all about
‘desire, scandal and murder.’
Ravi Kumar (Himesh Reshammiya) is
an ex cop dismissed from the police force. He
is invited to act in the movies and becomes
a superstar. During the shoot, he falls in love
with Chandni Roy (Zoya Afroz), a simple
small town girl. She has a dream and ambition
to become a Bollywood star. The story
takes a turn when the rivalry between the

two actresses begins. They have
simultaneous releases — Reena
Mera Naam starring Chandni
(Zoya Afroz, Miss India 2013 second runnerup) and Ujjwal Nirmal Sheetal featuring Zara
(Sonali Raut). The narrative gathers pace
when a cat-fight erupts between the two divas
at an after-party. Like all good mysteries,
there is a twist in the plot. Actress Zara, who
is known as Bollywood’s sex symbol, falls
of the building, and the murder shakes up
the entire film industry. Ravi Kumar, being
an ex-cop decides to investigate the murder.
The story follows the tale of two superstars
played by Himesh Reshammiya and Honey
Singh after they are embroiled in the murder
investigation. Soon everyone is a suspect, and
like a good murder mystery the plot unfolds
leaving you at the edge of your seat.
Not only does the film Xpose have a
60s feel, it draws inspiration from real life
Bollywood stars from that era. Zara’s character
is inspired by Zeenat Aman, and Chandni’s,
by Parveen Babi. Yesteryear actresses
Parveen Babi and Zaeenat Aman, were both
considered ‘sex symbols’ in their times. In
the opening scene of the trailer you can see
Sonali Raut in a transparent white sari just
like Zeenat did for Satyam Shivam Sundaram.
Zoya Afrozi is imitating Parveern Babi’s
style. Himesh Reshammiya’s character Ravi
Kumar — a suspended cop-turned-superstar-

turned detective — has been modeled on
Raaj Kumar. Yo Yo Honey Singh’s character,
Kenny Damania is based on Pran. In a special
appearance, Irrfan plays Alec D’Costa, one
of the biggest black marketeers of the 1960s,
while Adil Hussain is seen as Rajan Anna,
modeled on don Varadarajan.
The music of Xpose is kitsch, a mashup
of electronic and instrumental beats that
remind you of the early 70s. It’s the best of
Himesh Reshmammiya’s music, a blend of
remixes, reprise and originals. The song Icecream reminds you instantly of R.D Burman’s
music. With Vocals from Honey Singh and
Palak Mucchal, the number is a parody of
Pancham Da’s 70s music. Dard Dilo Ke by
Mohammed Irrfan is a slow number and has
a crooning romantic quality. Hai Apna Dil
Toh Awara features Honey Singh and Himesh
Reshammiya. It opens with Honey doing his
rap routine though its more of a jazz number.
Mika Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Neeti Mohan,
Shubhangi Tiwari and Shalmali Kholgade
join Himesh for the title song, Catch Me If
You Can. The song can be heard several times
in the film as it builds suspense and intrigue.
Suroor is the song for die-hard Himesh fans,
and won’t disappoint others.
The mystery shall be Xposed at Albion &
Woodside cinemas on May 23rd 2014!

the entry of arch rival Salman Khan on the chat show last
December, SRK and KJo started distancing themselves

It was earlier heard that Ranveer Singh woukd be playing the male
lead in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s opus Bajirao Mastani and now, we
hear that the filmmaker has finalized the movie’s leading lady too.
If reports are to be believed, then SLB has signed Katrina Kaif
to essay the character of Mastani opposite Singh. Earlier, Bhansali
wanted to cast his Ram Leela star Deepika Padukone as the female
lead however, the actress opted out of the film due to her packed
schedule.
Priyanka Chopra too will be a part of the project and will
play the iconic role of Kashibai, Bajirao’s first wife. Ranveer will
reportedly go bald for his role in Bajirao Mastani.

Actress Sonam Kapoor says she is nervous to see her younger
brother Harshvardhan on-screen.
Joining the latest bandwagon of celebrity children entering
Bollywood, Anil Kapoor’s son, the youngest of his three children,
is being launched by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in his next film
‘Mirza Sahiba’.
“I am happy he is here (in the film industry). But I am very
nervous because he is a kid and I hope he does well,” Sonam said.
The film is a love tragedy based on folklore which has been
given a contemporary touch. Harshvardhan will be seen as Mirza in
the film. The newbie returned from the US after studying screenplay
writing and acting. Earlier, he worked as assistant director to Anurag
Kashyap on his upcoming film ‘Bombay Velvet’ which stars Ranbir
Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan will not be seen in just a song
appearance but for a full-fledged role in Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar’
A source close to Kareena Kapoor revealed, “Bebo (Kareena
Kapoor) plays Akshay’s wife in the film. She is killed before the film
begins. So Akshay keeps remembering her in flashbacks. The role is like
that of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Aditya Chopra’s ‘Mohabbatein’.
The film’s leading lady played a kind of spirit that ran across the film.
Likewise in Gabbar.”
In the original Tamil film entitled ‘Ramanaa’, Simran had played
the role that Kareena Kapoor has just completed in Gabbar.
Kareena’s friend said, “Bebo and Akshay share a fabulous rapport.
They’ve played husband and wife in Aetraaz. She agreed to do so again
because her character propels the story forward.”

was the show stealer at the IIFA Awards
Kevin Spacey danced on the stage to Lungi dance number
from Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone’s Chennai
Express.
The show’s hosts Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapoor
requested Kevin to shake a leg to the Bollywood number.
He happily obliged them. Wearing a lungi, (the wraparound for males) the actor danced to the hit number from
the popular Hindi movie Chennai Express with Deepika,
who played the female lead in the romantic comedy.
Farhan and Shahid also joined in.
