Coming Events
Dear Parents,
Well done to Makenzie & Lily who were
named Jnr & Snr Girl Champion.
It was great to see so many parents attend
our Parent/Teacher meetings last week.
Feedback received from both parents and
teachers indicate that these meetings are
considered a valuable time to discuss the
year ahead and to mention any specific
concerns you have.
Congratulations also to our semester one
SRC representatives. These children meet
regularly with SRC teachers Mrs
O’Halloran & Miss Burke to plan and
organise ways to improve our school and
also to raise money for worthwhile
charities.
Miss Martin and Mrs Houssenloge also
ran an information session on the school’s
Facebook page. This session was also
well received.
Regards,
Mark Thomson
Principal

Clean Up Australia Day
On Friday 28th February, the students of Pambula Public
School will be participating in Clean Up Australia Day.
Each class will clean an area in or around the school under
the supervision of their class teacher. Kinder and Year 1
will clean up around the School and Years 2 to 6 will have
areas outside the school grounds, which will include some
town streets. The students will need to wear proper walking
shoes and a hat. They will also need to bring gloves
(preferably gardening or non-disposable).
Students will not be permitted to pick up glass or sharp
objects.
2014 Biathlon Major Fundraiser
We will be holding a Biathlon on Friday 14th March. It will
take the form of a walk, run and bike ride to and around
Pambula Wetlands and old Racecourse. Those that are able
to can bring a roadworthy pushbike.
By gaining sponsorship for their efforts, students will
raise much needed funds that have been earmarked for
technology and computers within our school.
The last time we held this event we raised around $8000 as
well as having a great day. Parents are most welcome to
come along, or join in the walk, run and ride.

Zone Swimming Carnival
Last Friday saw students from all over the shire come together for the
Far South Coast Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) Zone
Swimming Carnival at Candelo Pool. In perfect conditions, swimmers
from all schools excelled themselves in the pool and their sportsmanship was fantastic.
Pambula Public School's team was very strong with 11 swimmers
bring home 3rd place ribbons, six swimmers achieving second place
and an incredible 10 Pambula students winning their events. Pambula's
performance in the relays was exceptional with all four teams placing.
The race of the day was the Senior Girls Relay with Pambula winning
the extremely close race by less than one second to nearest rivals
Merimbula.
Makenzie Baker was the Junior Girls Champion and Lily Ferrara the
Senior Girls Champion. The day came to a perfect end for the Pambula Team as they were named as Zone Champions. The school is extremely proud of all of our swimmers who not only performed with
finesse in the water, but were brilliant ambassadors for our school.
