Shalom, Welcome to the Madrichim Program! You are a very important part of Kol Shofar’s education program and we are thrilled that you have made the decision to join us! The goal of this program is to prepare you to be leaders in the Jewish Community, and to give you skills that will be important for the rest of your lives. It is a big commitment, but the benefits are well worth the effort that you will put in. One skill set that we aim to develop is leadership. As a madrich or madricha you will partner with teachers to help plan and facilitate lessons in the classroom. You will act as a role model for younger students as well as your peers, helping them to form a positive relationship with our Kol Shofar community. In short, you will be a leader for the whole community. This is a great responsibility, and we will work together to make sure that you step into your role with confidence. This is also an opportunity for you to gain professional experience. We will provide trainings, staff meetings, and other elements of employment so that you can gain meaningful job training. Part of this means compensation for the work that you do. Madrichim who are in high school will be paid $9/hr and receive a monthly paycheck. Madrichim in 8th grade will receive a stipend of $300 at the end of the year, plus community service hours upon request. Madrichim are a vital part of our education team, and our faculty. We are very excited that you are interested in joining us in making this a great program and community. Together we can look forward to a very exciting year. Sincerely, Jordan Hopstone Youth and Teen Leadership Coordinator Congregation Kol Shofar MADRICHIM APPLICATION To apply for the madrichim program at Kol Shofar, please fill in the sections below.
