MINUTES OF MEETING
The Second Scientific Advisory Committee meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra,
Borgaon, Tal. Dist. Satara was held under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Dr. K. D. Kokate,
Director of Extension Education, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri on Friday
dated 11.07.2014 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Borgaon, Tal. Dist. Satara.

Kendra, Borgaon welcome the all members and gave the introductory speech.
The following points were raised and discussed in depth for the functioning of
Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
 Dr. V. J. Tarde, Prof. Agril. Extn. College of Agriculture, Kolhapur
Dr. V. J. Tarde, presented the activities, programmes, trainings conducted during
the year 2013-14 for transfer of technology. Also presented the various programmes
organized for farmers, youth and women farmers.
All the Subject Matter Specialists, Programme Assistants and Farm Manager of
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Borgaon has also presented their activities and action plan for
the year 2014-15.
At the onset of meeting Hon’ble Chairman felicitated four awardee farmers
namely 1. Shri. Yogesh Pawar, Varne 2. Shri. Anand Shinde, Borgaon
3. Shri. Anil Waghmale, Aarle 4. Shri. Mohan Lad, Karnje Tarf Parli
The suggestions by the Hon’ble Chairman and members of SAC are as
follows
 Dr. M. S. Babar, S.M.S. (Agril. Extn.)
1. Identify thrust areas of the adopted villages and also KVK Jurisdiction.
2. Develop Extension strategy for tehsils of KVK jurisdiction.
3. Develop feedback machanism for agro advisory with the help of Dr. Kharde,
M.P.K.V, Rahuri.
4. Give wide publicity to FLDs thourgh Newspaper, AIR and TV.
5. Workout cropping pattern of the district and identify major share of various crops
in district income.
6. Organise participatory seed village programme.
7. Establish Farm Producers Organization in the jurisdiction.
8. Approach to the selected villages and analyse yield gap.
 Dr. S. M. Wankhede, SMS, (Plant Protection)
1. Conduct FLD/OFT on major pest and diseases observed in Satara District.
2. Organise Demonstrations on Pea cultivation.
3. Identify White grub sp. in satara District.
4. Increase number of trainings.
 Shri. M. M. Pacharne, SMS, (Farm Power and Machinary)
1. Develop a Custom hiring centre at KVK with the help of NABARD and Private
Companies.
2. Demonstrate Agricultural implements on farmer’s field.
3. Conduct OFT on Groundnut decorticator for refinement.
4. Prepare database on percent mechanization in Satara District.
5. Popularise technology of Well Recharging
6. Develop Watershed project with the help of NABARD and Zilla Parishad.
 Shri. B. M. Yadgirwar, SMS, (Horticulture)
1. Prepare Tehsilwise database related to vegetable production.
2. Seed production of Pea (Phule Priya) at KVK farm.
3. Organise participatory seed production programme for Pea at Kaneri, Tal.
Khandala, Dist. Satara to popularize Phule Priya.
4. Demonstrate Phule Priya variety of Pea.
 Shri. S. B. Sakate, SMS (Animal Science and Dairy Science)
1. Demonstrate fodder cultivation technology at farmers field.
2. Demonstrate use of leguminuous and Non-leguminuous fodder crops.
3. Organize the activities for showing importance of Green and Dry fodder
combination in livestock feeding management.
4. Organize demonstration on indigenous poultry breed.
5. Assess the standards of Satari Kandhi Pedha.
 Shri. S. M. Kale, Farm Manager
1. Prepare Map showing details of farm.
2. Demonstrate new released varities and technologies at cafeteria of farm.
3. Inform the Director of Extension Education, M.P.K.V., Rahuri office about
estimate of future production and income of KVK farm.
4. Increase the receipts of KVK farm.
5. Develop infrastructure facilities at KVK farm for that follow the account
procedure.

1. Collect and analyse soil samples of KVK farm.
2. Collect and analyse soil samples for OFT/FLD of all subject and prepare database.
3. Prepare database on major and micro nutrients status of district.
 Shri. S. B. Thakare, Programme Assistant (Computer)
1. Create cropwise farmers database from KVK jurisdiction.
2. Record and maintain the Kisan Mobile Advisory.
3. Increase the number of registred farmers for Kisan Mobile Advisory.
4. Conduct Study for feedback mechanism of Kisan Mobile Advisory.
 General Suggestion for all the KVK Staff
1. Prepare Pocket Diary with the help of ATMA, containing the information regarding
Agricultural Schemes of State and Central Govt. and Agro Service providers of the
District.
2. Send important news and success stories to ICAR, New Delhi.
3. Conduct 150 demonstrations per year and two OFTs per SMS per year.
4. All SMS should work at same place for effective impact of KVK.
5. Download Contingent crop planning for Satara District from the ICAR website and
give wide publicity through media.
6. District Central Co-operative Bank is working for farming community, so the
representative of this bank should be included as the member of Scientific Advisory
Committee.
7. Organize the SAC meeting periodically.
8. Organize the orientation programme for the farmers regarding various bank
procedures for agriculture subsidy
9. Establish farmers scientist forum at KVK.
10. Aware the farmers about efficient use of water.
11. Establish the Beekeeping unit at KVK farm and promote at farmers level.
12. Recognize the farmers producing higher yield continuously.
13. Uniformity should be maintained in presentation of all KVK staff.
Dr. M. S. Babar anchored the meeting while Shri. Mahesh Pacharne proposed vote
of thanks to all the Hon’ble members. With permission of chair meeting was
concluded.
