Doyon, Limited Saddened by Death of Kantishna Roadhouse Employee
Fairbanks, Alaska --- Doyon, Limited and Doyon Tourism are deeply saddened by
the tragic loss of Gitte Stryhn. An employee for Kantishna Roadhouse for the past 6
summers, Stryhn was a valued member of the close-knit team at Kantishna. Her
knowledge, enthusiasm and love of Alaska was evident in every story she shared
with visitors to Alaska. Her loss is felt by all those that worked with her.
“A death to any member of Doyon’s family is felt by all of us. This situation is
especially difficult because we don’t have all the answers. We are doing what we can
to assist the Alaska State Troopers in their investigation,” stated Aaron Schutt,
Doyon President & CEO.
Marie Monroe, General Manager for Kantishna Roadhouse, stated, “We lost our
friend today. We are heartbroken.”
Our thoughts and prayers go to Gitte’s family. We urge the public to let the officials
continue their investigation to find the answers to this tragic event.
