Welcome to the 24th Annual Bankruptcy Skills Workshop. The Bankruptcy Skills
Workshop is unique because it features separate panel discussions by the
United States Bankruptcy Judges of the Southern District of Florida, Chapter 7
Panel Trustees, Standing Chapter 13 Trustees, Staff Counsel for the Florida Bar,
Clerk of Court, and seasoned debtor and creditor counsel.
Local practice in the Southern District of Florida is the focus of this year’s
program. The Judges’ panel highlights recent decisions within each division
of the Court. The Loss Mitigation Mediation Program (“LMM”) features an indepth discussion on how to successfully mediate debtor-creditor disputes and
manage client expectations.
8 AM – 4 PM
The Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 panels present the Standing Chapter 13
Trustees, Chapter 7 Panel Trustees, and Assistant United States Trustee staff
counsel. Each panel reviews best practice, procedures, and issues unique
to the particular chapter. Skilled lawyers discuss how to effectively represent
debtors and creditors in Chapter 7 and 13 cases.
