LIST INTENCYJNY
STOWARZYSZENIA „INSTITUTE OF TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING” (ITI)
ORAZ POLSKIEGO TOWARZYSTWA TŁUMACZY PRZYSIĘGŁYCH I SPECJALISTYCZNYCH „TEPIS”
Polskie Towarzystwo Tłumaczy Przysięgłych i Specjalistycznych „TEPIS” oraz Institute of
Translation and Interpreting (ITI), dwa główne stowarzyszenia zawodowe tłumaczy w Polsce i w
Zjednoczonym Królestwie, wyrażają zamiar ustanowienia Nagrody Solidarności Zawodowej
Międzynarodowej Społeczności Tłumaczy. Nagroda ma upamiętnić imię Albina Tybulewicza, Członka
Honorowego TEPIS i Członka Honorowego ITI. Ponadto, TEPIS i ITI proponują nadanie Nagrodzie
statusu oficjalnej nagrody Międzynarodowej Federacji Tłumaczy - Award of the Fédération
Internationale des Traducteurs (FIT), przyznawanej co trzy lata na Światowym Kongresie FIT.
Inspiracją do ustanowienia Nagrody są dokonania Albina Tybulewicza, który nie szczędził sił
we wspieraniu zawodowych tłumaczy w Polsce, kolegów w jego rodzinnym kraju, podczas gdy sam
mieszkał w Zjednoczonym Królestwie, jak również słowa Prezesa FIT, Marion Boers, “Tylko dzięki
solidarności i połączonym wysiłkom podniesiemy rangę naszego zawodu i zdobędziemy należne mu
uznanie” (Translatio 4/2013).
Intencją Towarzystwa TEPIS i stowarzyszenia ITI jest, aby Nagroda została zatwierdzona
przez Radę FIT i ustanowiona przez Komisję Nagród FIT w terminie umożliwiającym rozpatrzenie
pierwszych nominacji przed Światowym Kongresem FIT w 2017 roku.
LETTER OF INTENT ON BEHALF OF
THE INSTITUTE OF TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING (ITI)
AND THE POLISH SOCIETY OF SWORN AND SPECIALIZED TRANSLATORS (TEPIS)
As the principal professional associations of Translators in their respective countries of Poland and
the United Kingdom, the Polish Society of Sworn and Specialized Translators (TEPIS) and the Institute
of Translation and Interpreting ITI hereby state their intention to establish a Prize for Professional
Solidarity in the International Translation and Interpreting Community. The Prize shall be named in
memory of Mr Albin Tybulewicz, who was an Honorary Member of TEPIS and an Honorary Fellow of
ITI. Furthermore, TEPIS and ITI propose that the Prize be listed as an official Award of the Fédération
Internationale des Traducteurs – International Federation of Translators FIT, to be awarded every
three years at the FIT World Congress.
The Prize is inspired by Mr Tybulewicz’s unstinting efforts to support his fellow professional
translators in his native Poland while resident in the United Kingdom, and by the words of the FIT
President Marion Boers, “It is only through solidarity and working together that we will advance our
profession and obtain the recognition due to it” (Translatio 4/2013).
It is the intention of TEPIS and ITI that the Prize be approved by the FIT Council and established by
the FIT Awards Committee in sufficient time to allow the first nominations to be considered in
advance of the FIT World Congress 2017.

traduction dans leurs pays respectifs, déclarent par la présente leur intention de créer un Prix de la
solidarité professionnelle dans la communauté internationale des métiers de la traduction et de
l’interprétation. Le Prix sera nommé à la mémoire de feu M. Albin Tybulewicz, membre honoraire
de TEPIS et membre associé honoraire d’ITI. TEPIS et ITI proposent en outre que le prix trouve sa
place parmi les prix officiels de la Fédération Internationale des Traducteurs (FIT), remis tous les trois
ans à l’occasion du Congrès mondial de la FIT.
Inspiré par le soutien inlassable apporté par M. Tybulewicz à ses confrères et consœurs dans sa
Pologne natale pendant qu’il résidait au Royaume-Uni, le Prix s’inscrit dans le droit fil des paroles de
la Présidente de la FIT, Marion Boers : « Ce n’est que par la solidarité et en œuvrant de concert que
nous ferons avancer notre profession, que nous la ferons reconnaître à sa juste valeur » (Translatio
4/2013).
TEPIS et ITI souhaitent que le Prix soit approuvé par le Conseil de la FIT et qu’il soit mis en place par
le Comité des prix de la FIT en temps utile pour permettre l’examen des premières nominations
avant le Congrès mondial de la FIT 2017.
