SWL Launch Evening
On Tuesday, 16 September, swimmers and parents from
SWL got together for the Season 14/15 Launch evening at
Deans Community High School. Andrew Addison, our Head
Coach hosted the evening, covering topics such as the SWL
mission and aims, the competition and events calendar, team

Picture of New Banners for SWL Lessons Programme
travel meets, the team championships team and the highlight
of the evening being when Team Captains were announced
and there was a short Awards ceremony.
It was an occasion for everyone involved to show their pride
and commitment to the programme, their encouragement to
the athletes and to help them celebrate their hard work and
success.

Masters Update
Inverclyde Masters
- Dan Rosenfeld, Masters Convenor
The 20th Inverclyde Masters meet took place at the Waterfront Leisure Complex
in Greenock on Friday, 12th and Saturday, 13th September. SWL Masters had 3
swimmers (Dan Rosenfeld, Darren Marr and Nathan Kennedy) taking part putting
on a good performance for the Masters team at the first meet of the season.
From the 21 swims, we had 20 top 3 finishers within the respective age groups,
resulting in a tenth place team finish out of 31 teams, all the more impressive
given this was from only 3 swimmers.
In addition, 2 new SWL Masters records were set, Nathan in the 18-24 years
800m freestyle, and Dan in the 35-39 years 200m freestyle.
Well done everyone, next stop the East District Masters at Prestonpans on
Saturday, 22nd November.
And for those parents of swimmers out there who are reading this wondering
why their children love it so much, why not come along and join us in the pool,
new members are always welcome and you could be joining us at our next meet.
If you're interested speak to me (Dan), Sharon or Coach Al, and we can let you
have all the information you need.

Swim West Lothian NEEDS YOU!
As most of you know a busy year lies ahead of our swimmers. With a number
of events being planned for team travel we need all swimmers and parents to
participate in fundraising activities over the coming year.
Money raised via fundraising activities will also be used for equipment and land
training.
We are looking for ideas for fundraising activities which will involve the swimmers.
Also, if any parents have contacts in local companies or if you work for a firm that
offers sponsorship or makes charitable donations please let us know. Further
information on plans for the year will be included in future newsletters.

CHRISTMAS is COMING
easyfundraising
raising funds for SWL
Using the easyfundraising site for on-line shopping is an easy way for parents and
family to raise funds for SWL.
To date we have raised over £70 from the site but we could raise so much more if
parents register and visit the site every time before they buy on-line.
All you need to do is register with the easyfundraising site and then search for
retailers via the site. Every time you access a retailer and then buy on-line you raise
money for SWL. Lots of our local shops like Marks and Spencer, Asda, Debehnams,
Argos and many more like Apple, iTunes, Amazon, Book People are all members.
So when you are shopping and getting ready for CHRISTMAS remember to shop
via the easyfundraising site.
