Pyrotech MOTOR CONTROL CENTRE POWER CONTROL CENTRE MOTOR CONTROL CENTRE POWER CONTROL CENTRE Introduction MOTOR CONTROL CENTRE (MCC) A Motor Control Center is a modular cabinet system designed for powering and controlling motors in a factory thereby assuring total flexibility and operator safety. A typical MCC cabinet is a NEMA 12/IP-55 enclosure with a number of small doors arranged in rows and columns along the front and flat, mostly featureless back and sides. Behind each door is a unit which connects the electrical devices inside to the electrical bus bars behind it. An MCC with only one column of buckets is called a single-section MCC. MCCs are very common sights in factories with heavy machinery, although the purpose they serve is changing. MCC is capable to feed larger loads and come with multiple power stabs, to support high capacity industrial motors. The MCC units include: ? Full voltage non-reversing and full voltage reversing starters ? AC variable frequency drives ? PLC I/O chassis ? Solid-state motor controllers ? Lighting boards ? Transformers ? Analog or digital metering ? Feeder circuit breakers ? Feeder fusible disconnects POWER CONTROL CENTRE (PCC) PCC receives power either from Electricity board or captive power system and to distribute them to MCCS, PDBS, LDBS etc. The PCC's are carefully designed, wired, tested and factory assembled with electrical equipment installed inside totally as per customer requirements. Power Control Centers offer customized solution to save costs not only on installations but also on equipment storage, handling, and field testing. Pyrotech MCCs are single front as well as double front. Our MCC design is such that the MCC and busbar can be extended on either side. There is provision for running control bus bar throughout the length of MCC. All the compartment trolleys are earthed through scrapping earthing arrangement provided on the trolley and panel connected to earth bus. Auxiliary doors are provided for control and indicating instruments on the trolley. MCCs are made in welded construction system to ensure rigidity throughout the section. 1)Size - Standard height of out MCC is 2400mm including base frame. The maximum operating height is 1800mm. ®For Single front MCCs 2400 (H) x 850 (W) x 600 (D) mm ®For Double front MCCs 2400 (H) x 850 (W) x 1000 (D) mm That means spacious arrangement is made for Cable Termination ensuring comfortable and easy maintenance. 2)Structure - Load Bearing Members are made of 2mm CRCA. 3)Other Sheets - Partition sheets and doors are made of 1.6mm CRCA. 4)Gland plates - Cable Routing is done with the help of gland plates made of 3mm CRCA. 5)Base Frame - ISMC - 100 6)Colour Shade - RAL - 7032 Standard High quality epoxy powder coated switch boards have long lasting elegance and are able to withstand corrosive environment. 7)Dust proofing - All covers, doors and interpanel jointing is provided with Neoprene Gasket, specially concealed profile of which gaskets dust ingress. “H” type Neoprene gasket on main doors and Neoprene gasket ‘U’ type gasket on cutout for auxiliary doors to achieve upto IP-55 protection. 2 Main Parts and Accessories 1)Trolleys - The trolleys are designed with great precision to avoid any mismatch of draw out contacts, power as well as control SIC contacts. The trolleys are having three distinct positions, Isolated, Test, Service. Standard Trolley size - 300mm, 375mm, 450mm, 600mm, 750mm and 900mm. All similar size trolleys are interchangeable. ·Drawout Contacts : silver plated Copper (tested for 50KA as per IS 8623/IEC 439) ·Power & Control Contacts : silver plated Copper (tested for 50KA as per IS 8623/IEC 439) ·Earthing : Provided by Scrapping Earth Assembly. ·Trolley Movement : On telescopic rail through cranking mechanism. ·Shrouding with Shutter : Provided Automatically. 2)BusBars - Our bus bar design is calculated to withstand the short time current and the busbar sizing also is done accordingly. Bus bar can be either aluminum E91E or electrolytic grade copper as per customer requirement. Bus bars are fully shrouded and the draw out fixed contacts are shrouded by automatic shutters. Once the trolley is drawn out, the busbar will be fully shrouded and thus avoid any accidental contact with live busbar. The horizontal bus bar chamber height is 300mm which is fully isolated from compartments. And all live parts are fully shrouded; hence the possibility of accidental approach to the live part even after racking out Person has to do the maintenance within the MCC and the chances of accidental approach to the live part are high. The design of structure, trolley and draw out component are standardized, it is Possible to pre fabricate and keep them in stock. Also Pre harnessing of wire can be done. Since the design is non standardized the MCC to be made as per the requirement.
