Biographical note: Greg Stewart
Greg Stewart was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Canada in October 2014.
Mr. Stewart was born in Windsor, Ontario. He received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural
Economics from the University of Manitoba in 1988. He has also completed numerous executive
management and leadership development programmes, including at the Executive Institute of the
University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Stewart has more than 26 years of experience with Farm Credit Canada (FCC), a leading
agricultural lender and self-sustaining Crown Corporation. From 2007 until June 2014, he was
President and Chief Executive Officer of FCC and prior to that he served as Chief Operating
Officer, Senior Vice-President of National Lending Operations, Vice-President of Western
Operations and Agri-business, and Vice-President of Risk Management. He was also the owner
of Stewart Price Construction and Assistant Manager at Cargill Elevators.
Mr. Stewart has a chartered director designation from the Directors College and also serves on
the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity, Canada and Habitat for Humanity, Regina as
well as of Food Banks, Canada.

Notice biographique: Greg Stewart
Greg Stewart a été nommé membre du Conseil d’administration de la Banque du Canada en
octobre 2014.
M. Stewart est originaire de Windsor, Ontario. Il est titulaire d’un baccalauréat ès sciences en
économie agricole qui lui a été décerné par l’Université du Manitoba en 1988. Il a en outre suivi
de nombreuses formations pour cadres supérieurs et des cours de perfectionnement en
leadership, notamment à l’Executive Institute de la Graduate School of Business de l’Université
de Chicago.
Avant d’entrer à la Banque, M. Stewart a travaillé 26 ans à Financement agricole Canada (FAC)
– important prêteur à l’industrie agricole et société d’État financièrement autonome. De 2007 à
2014, il était président-directeur général de FAC et avait auparavant occupé les postes de chef de
l’exploitation, de vice-président principal, opérations de prêt, de vice-président, opérations
(section de l’Ouest) et agroentreprises, et de vice-président, gestion des risques. Il a en outre été
propriétaire de la société Stewart Price Construction et directeur adjoint chez Cargill Elevators.
M. Stewart possède le titre d’administrateur agréé, décerné par The Directors College, et siège
également aux conseils d’administration d’Habitat pour l’humanité (Canada) et d’Habitat pour
l’humanité (Regina) ainsi que de Banques alimentaires Canada.
