INTRODUCTION The OMNI-A0180 is a wideband manpack antenna designed for the suppression of radio-controlled improvised explosive devices (RCIEDs). The spring can handle a 70° bend angle and is rigid enough not to resonate when a person runs or when positioned on a vehicle. The OMNI-A0180 has an Omni-directional azimuth pattern with minimal ripple, ensuring all-round protection. The antenna is rated for 50W indefinite continuous duty power handling. Pertinent features of the antenna include: Pertinent features of the antenna include: Frequency range : 100 – 500 MHz VSWR : typically less than 2.5:1 over the specified band (with respect to 50 Ω) Connector: N-Type (m) for the OMNI-A0180 7-16 (m) for the OMNI-A0180-01 Figure 1: The antenna OMNI-A0180 Version 1.0 Confidential Page 4 of 9 Technical Reference Manual (TRM) for OMNI-A0180 Poynting Antennas (Pty) Ltd ECP No - Creation Date Revision Date 30/08/2011 - Version No 1.0 2. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Hold the antenna still and turn the connector shell clockwise over the N-Type male (for the OMNI-A0180) on the transmitter.
