• Recirculation Coolant Pumps
The jet pumps are used to assure reactor flow and to prevent local areas of core overheating.
Typically a vertical centrifugal pump operating at 1800 rpm and 8000 HP.
• Residual Heat Removal Service Water Pumps
Vertical centrifugal operating at 900 rpm and 300 HP.
• Residual Heat Removal (RHR) Pumps
Remove residual heat from the reactor during low pressure operations (shutdowns and refueling outages).
Vertical centrifugal pumps operating at 1800 rpm and 900 HP.
• High Pressure Core Spray Pumps
Part of the emergency core cooling system. Vertical centrifugal pump operating at 1800 rpm and 3000 HP.
• Low Pressure Core Spray Pumps
Part of the emergency core cooling system. Additional capacity for core cooling after reactor depressurization. Vertical
centrifugal pumps operating at 1800 rpm and 1750 HP.
• Closed Cooling Water Pumps
Provide cooling water flow to pump/motor bearings and seals. Horizontal centrifugal pumps operating at 1800 rpm and

• Reactor Core Isolation Pumps
Turbine driven pumps supplying cooling water to the core in an emergency. Horizontal centrifugal pumps operating at
4000rpm and 800HP.
• Fuel Pool Cooling and Cleanup Pumps
